I am a little over 5 days postpartum now writing this, BUT I wanted to share all of the products I am actually using post birth for me and my newborn. Let's start off with essentials for mom. I am living in this pair of pajamas. I got the set that includes shorts and pants. The tank is a nursing tank top so works for breastfeeding and pumping. It is super soft + the pants are maternity so plenty of room and not too tight on my c-section scar. Speaking of c-section this c-section recovery bandhas been so nice! It has a spot for ice packs, or heat packs. I've been using them as ice packs. It's great to wear around the house + I've worn it out to pediatrician appointments. Helps support everything + get pain relief with the ice packs. Current nursing and pumping essentials include reusable nursing pads, silverettes, & nipple butter. Save yourself some time and get this peri bottle. It really is superior to the hospital one! I didn't need it quite as much with a c-section but if you are planning on doing vaginal I imagine this would make a huge difference. We also got unscented hand soap for the housefor visitors to use + us. Trying to get rid of all heavily scented products when possible!
Now on to baby products! Obviously a carseat is critical, you legit can't leave the hospital without it. We ended up going with this car seat! I feel like I never see anyone talk about it but we have been loving it. The straps are super easy to adjust and has good safety features and ratings. I wasn't planning on pumping so much but with a NICU baby, it kind of forced me to pump. Once I got home I used this breast pumpand I have no complaints! Took some trial and error to figure out what settings worked for me but now I have the hang of it. This is the pump I always see lactation consultants recommend also. This night lightis great for getting up in the middle of the night. I am team diaper spatula, I will not be taking questions at this time. I hate the feeling of lotion on my hands, or under my nails, so this is essential to me. I'll die on this hill, but a wipeable changing padis an essential. We are already doing a lot of laundry, I can't imagine having to clean a changing pad cover on top of it. This one I wipe down every few diaper changes and it is great. I use this clean unscented spray to wipe everything off. We've been trying to use glass only bottles, but we go through so many I've had to use some free samples. But these are the ones I've been currently using!
