Rent the Runway Trunk Show Event!

{The Iowa State Rent the Runway team!}

As some of you may know I am a rep for Rent the Runway! So I work on the Iowa State Rent the Runway team. We recently hosted an event at Portobello Road boutique and it was our Spring Cleaning Trunk Show.

So basically a trunk show is where we have a bunch of Rent the Runway dresses and we let girls come in and basically play dress up. This gives them an idea for sizes and styles that Rent the Runway has to offer. But, RTR has many more dresses then what we had but it is a little taste that we are able to give people.

We had dresses from brands like Kate Spade, Lilly Pulitzer, and a lot of others!

Not to mention we have super fun freebies from L'Oreal Paris to hand out to attendees!

Also, I would like to mention our pairing with Portobello Road for this event! Portobello Road is an amazing boutique in Ames with super cute apparel and home decor. So if you ever find yourself randomly in Ames, Iowa be sure to stop by and take a peek. The store is literally the cutest thing on the planet.

{My Big rocking some lovely RTR dresses!}

{Portobello Road has the best decor!}

Preppy Diaries: Whales and Seersucker

Whales and Seersuckers oh my! Am I on a boat? No but I wish I was.

This look is super preppy and nautical of course. Basically I feel like I live on boat but I live in Iowa... so there is that. But, this look includes seersucker, pearls, and of course Vineyard Vines. I paired a fun seersucker blazer with a simple light pink tank and classic dark jeans. For accessories I wore my favorite pearl statement necklace from J Crew. I like how it adds a bunch of layers to the look. Also, I wore a Vineyard Vines baseball cap along with a neutral pair of Sperry Top Sider.

Overall I loved this look and I am dying to wear this blazer again!

Where it's from:
Blazer: Gap
Tank: J Crew
Jeans: American Eagle
Hat: Vineyard Vines
Necklace: J Crew
Shoes: Sperry Top Sider

Get the look!
Here are all the pieces of my preppy look. Some of these are the exact pieces and others are very similar!

Winter to Spring

Is it winter or spring? I'm not sure....

In between winter and spring there is that awkward time when you have no idea what to wear. I feel your pain I really do. So here are some outfit ideas to help you get through this weird time of the year.

Your best friend during this time is layering. If you have a few layers on you can stay warm in the morning when it is colder then you can take them off when it is warmer in the afternoon.

A go to outfit you can use is a pair of fun colored jeans and a denim top. This is a great alternative to just throwing on some yogas. You can role up your sleeves or even cuff your jeans if you are feeling a little hot. But throw on a cardigan or a vest if you a little chilly. Pair your jeans a shirt with a fun pair of dangle earrings and some patterned sneakers (Keds are my go-to sneakers).

Another outfit idea is a fun floral dress and a oversize cargo jacket. This way you can wear your new floral dress you have been dying to wear but you won't freeze in the process. Pair your dress with a pair of neutral ankle booties to complete the look. For final touches add some Alex and Ani bangles for a boho vibe.

Hope these outfit ideas helped you!

March Favorites

MARCH MADNESS
Well my favorites might not be mad but here they are!

March was kind of a crazy month! It was packed with activities, fun, and lots of Pi Phi things which is always the best. Here is a break down of my favorite things of March.

1. Formal: The biggest event for any sorority girl is formal of course! I had a super fun time at my formal wearing one of my favorite dresses from Betsey Johnson of course.

2. The night before spring break: This night was probably one of my favorite of the semester! I won't go into details but it was a really great night of college.

3. Spring break: Break was a super nice well break! I may not have been laying on a beach but I did lay on my couch for a week which was good enough for me. Sometimes it is nice to just sleep in your own bed and be able to hop in your car whenever you want.

4. Frozen: I don't think I need to explain this.... but basically frozen is the best movie ever.

5. Greek Week: Greek Week was such a great experience! It was super fun to be with everyone from the community. You can check out my post about it here: Greek Week post

6. Oxford shirts and pearls: For fashion favorites these are for sure my two favorite things. I have been wearing my Ralph Lauren slim oxfords a lot this month. They virtually go with everything. Basically every girl needs one in her wardrobe. I have a blue and a white one now and I plan to expand the collection. Also, I have been loving my new J Crew pearl necklace. It is a great bold but classic piece.

7. Iowa State Basketball: This month was a good month to be an Iowa State basketball fan! We won the Big 12 conference and also made it to the Sweet 16. Although we did loose I am still so happy that we made it so far in March Madness.

Those are my March favorites! What did you love in the month of March?
(Also, isn't it crazy it's already April??? It's almost summer :) )

Spotlight: Henri Bendel Phone Cases

OBSESSED!
Recently Henri Bendel sent out an email showcases some of their new phone cases. I am a sucker for phone cases so I instantly wanted them all. I was particularly drawn to this black one below. I saw it in the store and I loved it! It has a little chain that you can carry it on and its just adorable.

They also have some super fun phone wristlets like this one with the signature Henri Bendel stripes.
These two phone cases are super adorable! I believe that a fun phone case just makes life better. So be sure to find yourself a cute a fashionable phone case!

Sorority Life: Greek Week

GREEK WEEK CRAZINESS

This past week was our campus's GREEK WEEK! That is partially the reason I have been MIA this past week. I have been running around from event to event it seems like. But, it was for sure one of the funnest weeks of my life. I had a great time with our pairing and all of my Pi Beta Phi sisters.

One of our main events is called Lipsync. Lipsync is basically a giant skit where everything is pre-recorded and we dance and "lip sing" the words along with the music! Our pairing's theme was Peter Pan and I was lucky to be a fun fairy sporting my two favorite colors purple and green.

We had a super fun pairing party with our lovely pairing Phi Delta Theta! Jersey themed of course :)

Saturday was our Greek Olympics. I was lucky enough to represent Pi Phi in the bed race portion. Basically a bunch of guys push a bed and I sit/ steer it. However, my bed actually broke so..... that was fun (not really). But it was too funny so I couldn't even be mad about it! Our pairing ended up winning 2nd for Greek Olympics so I was super happy about that :)

That is a recap of my first Greek week experience! If you ever have questions about Greek life feel free to comment below :)

OOTD: Edgy Stripes

Surprise surprise I am wearing stripes! As you may know I have a severe stripe addiction. This shirt was on super clearance and was in my recent spring break blog haul!

I paired the striped tee with a fun denim vest and a pair of army green pants. This look is super comfortable but still put together. For accessories I wore my everyday watch, a stack of bracelets, and a fun statement necklace. This combination of pieces creates a fun but edgy look.

Also you may notice my new hair-do! I got three inches cut off and now my hair is super healthy and refreshed. I always feel like a new person once I get my hair cut. Its interesting figuring out how to work my new length when I'm styling it. But, my curls came out pretty well for the first try!
