Guess what day it is? BID DAY

Bid Day!
Hello everyone! This past week has been PURE madness. Rush week was super busy so I did not have time to blog basically all week. But I am in back in action. So, here is my Bid Day experience. Obviously every school does something different but I will tell you a little bit about my experience.

So we went to our quad if you want to call it that and we were given an envelop with our bid. However we couldn't open it until a certain time which was pure torture.
I am a new pledge to Pi Beta Phi sorority! I couldn't be more happier and could not have asked for a better sisterhood to join.

After we got our bids you basically run to meet up with your new sorority. Then shortly after you run again through our clock tower to meet up with your new sisters. We also got basically a big sister ours is called our "Guardian Angel". So, they just show us the ropes and tell us what is going on basically.

One crazy thing is that my best friend and I ended up in Pi Phi together. She is in the picture on the left. We didn't tell each other our preferences so it was a complete surprise. It's funny because I always called her my sister and now we really are Pi Phi sisters!

Here are just some bid day pictures. After we got our bids we went back to the house for pictures, pledging, and dinner it was super fun and overall a great experience.

Rush Outfits of the Week

Rush Outfits of the Week:
Day 1: T-shirt with any bottoms
This day we were given a t-shirt that we had to wear. I styled it with a black and white skirt to make it a little bit more me. Most girls wore shorts this day but as you may have learned I'm more of a skirts kind of girl.

Where it's from:
Shirt: ---
Skirt: Forever 21
Shoes: Target
Necklace: J Crew
Bracelets: Henri Bendel, Dry Goods, and Alex and Ani

Day 2: Shorts or skirt with a nice top.
So this day was still super casual. Most people had shorts with a nice top or a skirt. I wore this lazer cut pleather skirt with a simple black tank. This day it was beyond hot so I kept things relatively simple. But, I thought it was a unique outfit and it stood out. The main thing to remember is your'e impressing girls not boys! So look cute, feminine, and classy don't worry about the boys till later.

Tank: Aerie
Skirt: Akira
Shoes: Sam Eldeman
Necklace: Dry Goods

Day 3: Sundress
This day was another step up in attire. We all had to wear just sundresses or a cute dress. But, it was still casual. I wore this teal dress that has a lot of different details including a tie in the front and cut outs on the sleeves. Pairing the look with a statement necklace and wedges I was good to go! Also, a big tip is wear a topknot. It keeps your hair out of your face and prevents you from twirling it or touching it to much.

Where it's from:
Dress: American Eagle
Necklace: Dry Goods
Shoes: Guess
Preference Night: Formal Dress
This is the most formal of all the nights. I simply paired this aqua mint dress with a huge statement necklace. The look is simple but still stands out at the same time.

Dress: Akira
Necklace: Topshop
Shoes: Jessica Simpson

Sorority Rush Outfit Ideas

Sorority Recruitment Outfit Ideas:
I am starting my rushing process this weekend. So, I thought I would share some outfit ideas that follow my guidelines for rush. Every school is different but it is pretty similar across the board.

Sorority Rush Outfit Ideas

One day will most likely business casual. So, I paired a cute pair of scalloped shorts with a simple white button down. By adding a junky statement necklace it gives something special to your outfit that people will be able to remember. To finish the look I just added a pair of gold strappy sandals and gold studs. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes! I bet you will be walking around campus going to your different visits and you don't want to trip in wedges or get blisters. Wear any shoes or sandals that are comfortable but not sloppy looking.

Sorority Rush Outfit Ideas

  1. Outfit number one is designed around if you have to wear a rush t-shirt. Make sure to wear a pair of longer shorts if you choose to wear shorts. Something tells me this is not the time or place for high waisted cut offs. These J Crew shorts have a longer inseam but are still cute and preppy. Pair this look with cute sneakers and a fun necklace. Small details will make you feel more confident.
  2. This outfit is for one of days you could wear a skirt. I paired a fun mustard skirt with a simple denim sleeveless button down. If yellow isn't your favorite simply change the look around to what you have in your closet. Again, I paired it with a fun bright necklace. I think necklaces are a great way to add attention to your face. You definitely need to do this at rush so they will remember not only your personality but how you look!
  3. Most likely you will have to wear a dress one of the days. So, this printed dress is fun yet still classy and professional. Try and stay away from your super tight body con dresses. You aren't impressing boys you are impressing girls. Pick something cute rather than sexy. Bubble necklaces are always a great addition as well. They make a bold statement and are super preppy.

Formal Recruitment Outfit Ideas
Here are three ideas for your preference night. This is usually the most dressy of all the nights. Again, depending on your school the more dressy you should be. From left to right the options get more formal. So you can pick the one that fits you.

Remember to wear things that you are comfortable in. Don't dress like someone else dress like yourself it will make you feel more confident in the end.

Good luck if you are rushing! If not you can use these ideas for everyday.
