OOTD: Preppy Plaid

Recently, I have been super into wearing plaid scarfs. Constantly I find myself reaching for both of mine! During Thanksgiving break shopping I intend on finding a few more because they are literally perfection!

For this outfit I paired my red plaid scarf with a fun red scalloped dress. I bought this dress in the summer but now I am transitioning it into fall with a pair of printed tights. The slight houndstooth print in these tights adds an extra pop of pattern to the look. To layer the dress I wore a simple denim button down underneath. It added an extra layer so I didn't freeze in class! To complete the look I wore a crystal statement necklace from J Crew because what else completes an outfit like a J Crew statement necklace? For shoes I stuck with my classic pair of black ballet flats.

I am loving this layered look! The combination of the scarf, dress, and denim button down creates a cozy fall look. This look is super easy to re-create and makes a great casual fall look. Simply find a sleeveless dress from your summer wardrobe and layer it with a button down of some sort underneath. Pair it with a necklace and or scarf to complete the look! And of course don't forget a pair of cool tights.

I love this scallop detail on this dress! Scallops are the perfect preppy touch to any garment.

Preppy Diaries: Scallops and Statements

Pretty Pastels
This dress is one of my all time favorites. If you don't keep up with Sarahbelle93x on Youtube she also has this dress! I actually unknowingly got it, just because I was obsessed, and soon after she featured it in one of her videos! But, in regardless if you like Sarahbelle (which you should) this is one adorable dress. I love the scallop detailing on the hem and the sleeves. Also, the shape of the shift is actually flattering. As a shorty I struggle hardcore in the shift dress department. However, this one luckily fit perfectly! I ordered it off tobi.com and I have had amazing luck there with dresses specifically. If you are a short individual (like myself) I would highly suggest ordering from them. I wear an x-small if that helps you with sizing (I am 5ft and normally wear a 00). Ordering online is super tricky for me because normally I never know how things are going to fit. But, I can almost always count on Tobi for something cute and something that fits!

For accessories I wore a fun and bold statement necklace. I love how the colors of the necklace compliment the dress and they don't over power it. I also wore a pair of simple bow earrings, some bangles, along with my classic gold watch. My shoes are just simple white and gold sandals from Target.

Tobi is having a site wide sale right now! 50% off everything!

These sandals are a great neutral shoe. I love the gold detailing because I wear gold basically everyday! So, these sandals always match my jewelry.

Follow Me Around: Birthday, OOTD, and Dinner!

Hello everyone! If you didn't know my golden birthday was June 19th (this past thursday). So, I thought I would share what I did on my birthday and share the outfits that I wore!

My friend Cassidy came into town to celebrate my birthday so we picked her up at a mall close to my house. We ate at Maggianos, an Italian restaurant near the mall, for lunch and it was super tasty! Then we did a little bit of shopping at the mall because what else would I do on my birthday but shop? So we hit up J Crew, Sephora, and browsed around Anthropologie.

Here is my OOTD from shopping! I wore a super fun anchor sweater because I knew we would be in and out of cold air conditioning. I paired the fun printed sweater with a more simple short. It is a creme beige color short that has a scallop detail on the hem. I have been huge into scallops recently (like this fun red dress). Scallops add a super fun and feminine detail to basically everything! (Speaking of scallops Anthropologie had the most perfect scalloped top! Ugh why does everything have to be a million dollars in there??!) For jewelry I wore my favorite pearl necklace from J Crew, Alex and Ani & J Crew bangles, Kate Spade bow earrings, and my Michael Kors watch. Then for shoes I just wore my neutral Sperry Top-Siders.

Cool pictures I took in Anthropologie. This store literally is perfection. I want to actually live inside one. I mean they had a bed, dinning room table, dishes, and free cupcakes and drinks so I think I could survive.

Then, later in the day we headed off to dinner. My friend Cathleen came to meet Cassidy real quick before we left which was super nice!

Love the open back on this dress!

The OOTD for dinner at the Melting Pot included this peach Tobi dress. It is a great summer dress and has a lot of fun details. The coolest part of this dress has to be the open back. Usually I am not a fan of open backs but this dress is just too cute not to love it. Also, I love the fringe detail on the sleeves. It gives the dress a little more of a boho feel. For jewelry I kept things simple and only wore my usual bangles and watch plus a fun pair of earrings. These ones are from Baublebar and have white, creme, and black stones. Then my shoes are just a simple black sandal.

We ate dinner at one of my favorite places the Melting Pot which is a fondue restaurant. If you ever get the chance to eat at one it is AMAZING! My personal suggestions are the swiss cheese for your cheese fondue, a caesar salad, anything steak for you entree, then finally milk chocolate fondue for dessert. Yum!

They put my name on the sign out front! I felt pretty cool.

Preppy Diaries: Red Scallops

Shift Over
Another day of work another dress. This dress is super cute and preppy. I love the scalloped detail on the hem. It adds a extra touch of girly and prepiness. (Prepiness is not a word but we can go with it.) Also this dress will come in handy once I get back to school. I can already picture myself pairing it with a cute yellow chevron bow.

I've started to have a major obsession with shift dresses. Usually shift dresses don't look good on me. Like at all. I end up looking like a sack and they hang super weird on me. But, recently I have been finding some great shift dresses!

For accessories I wore a fun creme rosette necklace. I also wore a fun pair of Kate Spade bow earrings. To add an extra metallic touch I wore my mixed metallic sandals. My bracelet stack includes my favorite Alex and Ani bracelets plus a fun J Crew pearl bracelet.

What I wore:

Shoes: Target
Necklace: jane.com
Bracelets: Alex and Ani & J Crew
Watch: Michael Kors
Earrings: Kate Spade

New Obsession

Pastel love
I recently picked up a new handbag and let my say I am OBSESSED with it! It is this light purple Kate Spade bag. It has both a handle then a cross body strap which makes it super versatile. The main reason why I love it is number one the color then number two the scallop detailing. It makes it super girly and preppy. Also, the interior features an adorable bow lining. Overall, I am so happy with this purchase. I debated for a while if I should get it or not but I knew I would regret it if I didn't scoop it up. If my personality and style had to be described in a bag... this would be it for sure!

Easter Brunch

Preppy Easter Brunch

For Easter brunch I channeled my inner prepster since we were going to a country club. I wore a light blush pink shift style dress with scalloped details. The dress was super comfortable and perfect for a warm spring day. I got a lot of compliments on it so I was very happy! I paired the dress with bold accessories because the dress was so simple. For necklaces I wore my two favorite J Crew necklaces. One a long pearl necklace then a small rhinestone piece. To keep things simple I wore a basic pair of nude pumps.

Overall I love this dress and this look. It was super preppy and perfect for a warm Easter morning.
