Baublebar x Target is the collab of your dreams!

Something MAJOR is happening over at Target.... They recently launched a collection with one of my favorite accessory companies Baublebar! Sugarfix by Baublebar is a lower end accessory line made to mimic popular styles from Baublebar. As a deal hunting gal I couldn't be more excited for the collaboration!

I picked up a pair of navy beaded tassel earrings and a pair of sequin rhinestone studs. They are both great quality for the price and the perfect small statement for any look. I've worn both of them numerous times since I purchased them a week or so ago.

Be sure to head to Target to check out the collection! You can also shop the collection on Target's website.

Have you picked up anything from the collection? Let me know in the comments!

OOTD: Elegant Elephants

Spring is here! Said mother nature. But, she was joking. It was in the 60s in Ames and I was loving it. Now, today it is supposed to snow 1-3 inches in Iowa. Are you kidding?! I'm so over the dark colors of winter and I'm ready to bust out my Lilly dresses again. Although our spring teaser didn't last long, here is my first true spring look of the year. I'm wearing this adorable elephant print Lilly dress. It's super casual so I love throwing it on for class or a day out.

I've been wearing my sneakers non-stop recently. These Minnie Mouse x Keds sneakers are perfect to pair with a cute casual dress. Pairing sneakers with a dress instantly makes it more casual and easy to wear day-to-day.

Most people avoid wearing dresses at all costs. But, dresses are my go-to because I think they are so comfortable. Hello, they aren't pants and aren't as confining as yoga pants. What's not to love? I challenge you to start wearing dresses on a day-to-day basis. They are way more comfortable then you think.

For accessories I kept things simple with a long chain Kendra Scott necklace. I love wearing this necklace with a loud print. It keeps things simple but still adds a little sparkle. Then my Longchamp is the perfect easy bag that can carry everything I need.

OOTD: Break the Rules

Jadelynn Brooke has come out with super cute new t-shirts! I'm loving their spring collection. This "If You Obey all of the Rules You'll Miss all of the Fun" tee is way to cute! The pineapple print on the quote is my favorite part. Nothing says spring or summer like a cute print!

I love casual looks like this for lazy Sundays or the weekends. Pairing a Jadelynn Brooke tee with leggings, shorts, or a skirt is the perfect effortless look.

I paired my shirt with a simple pair of white chino shorts and my fun Minnie Mouse Keds sneakers. Although this look is super simple, it's an easy way to wear a t-shirt without throwing on leggings.

How to balance an internship and class

  1. Organization is key | Organization, organization, organization! If you aren't organized you aren't going to survive. Carry a planner, keep track of work hours, and keep track of you assignments. Plain and simple. The minute you let yourself get behind, the harder it is to recover.
  2. Plan your classes accordingly | If you know you will have an internship during the school year, try and plan your class schedule around potential internship hours! Last semester I was able to work full days on Monday and Wednesday because I had all my classes Tuesday, Thursday, Friday. This was a major help! On the other hand, this semester I am running around like a crazy person because I have classes every day except Thursday. If your internship is 45 min away or farther try your best to schedule around a work schedule that is full days (9-5pm). This way you can save on gas or on public transportation and avoid running around like me. But, sometimes your classes have strict days they are scheduled, like mine this semester, so be aware that you may have a crazy schedule!
  3. Keep on top of tasks in and out of the office | Make sure to keep track of your work and class assignments. A planner is going to be your best friend. Write down to-do lists for your outside of work to do's (if any) and your homework. This was it is all in one place.
  4. Be realistic | It's great if you get offered an amazing internship during the school year! But, if you know you are a slow worker academically or if you get stressed easily, waiting until the summer might be better. Balancing an internship that you want to do well in and classes you want to do well in is an art form. So, be realistic. If you don't think you can manage it trust your gut instinct.
  5. Know your limits | Working 20+ hours a week is great! But, if you have a heavy course load or other activities, know your limits. I am the queen of taking on to much. First semester I had my internship, 20+ credits, and was Editor in Chief of my campus fashion magazine. It was flat out too much. With that being said, limit your campus involvements if your internship will be intensive. And as I said before, try and plan your classes accordingly if possible!
I hope these tips and tricks may have helped you decide if an internship during the semester is right for you! Are you interning this semester? Let me know in the comments!

OOTD: The Purple Coat

The weather is getting warmer which means we will have to put away our Bean boots and heavy coats until next year. But, before we do, I wanted to share my newest coat obsession... this purple coat. When I first saw it at J Crew I knew it was a must have. Purple is my all time favorite color, so this pastel purple hue was calling my name.

Although I had been eyeing it for quite some time, I knew eventually it would go on sale. A college girl can't afford to drop $300+ on a fancy fun coat. When J Crew had their 40% off the entire store promotion around the holidays I scooped it up. This coat is decently heavy, but is by no means a parka. So, I normally only wear it when I am dressed up or I'm just running inside somewhere. I've warn it on campus a few times, but when it comes to cold Iowa weather my Northface parka does the job of keeping me warm while this is more of a fashionable coat.

None the less, I am obsessed with this coat! J Crew had way to many cute coats this year, but this one ended up beating the rest. A close second was a pink blazer style wool coat that was so adorable as well. I love that J Crew takes a bold punch of color to their outerwear. Wearing a boring black coat gets old after a while. This pastel purple adds a dash of color to whatever I wear.

Lilly + Starbucks Water Bottles are HERE!

The world is blessing us with so many fabulous brand collaborations recently. The latest and greatest collab is the Lilly Pulitzer + Starbucks Swell water bottles. How cute are they!

*via Lilly Pulitzer*

My journey for my Lilly water bottle is quite the story. I woke up early to pick one up at the Starbucks right next to my apartment. My family friend frantically texted me saying they were sold out in my hometown (in Illinois) already. Mind you this is at 7am. So, I panicked and threw on my clothes and ran out the door. I texted my mom and boyfriend so they could be on the hunt too.

I went to the Starbucks feet away from my apartment, saw none on the shelves, so I asked the cashier if they had them. He brought the manager out and she said they weren't carrying them but her little sister got one this morning at a different Ames location. The manager continues to explain to the clueless barista what Lilly Pulitzer is and why someone would care so much about a water bottle. Anyways, I told my friend and she said to give them a call and check. So I frantically ran to my 8am and called the Starbucks outside of my classroom.

I asked if they had the Lilly Pulitzer Swell bottles. Her response, priceless, "Oh the flowery ones?". Me, "Yeah....". Only in Iowa would no one care about these! Hey works to my advantage. Meanwhile my mom went to a Starbucks back home and found some for both of us. Score! But, I still wanted to checkout what the Ames location had. After my two classes I ran there.

Also, meanwhile, my boyfriend picked them up at his Starbucks and was going to surprise me. Of course I had to ruin it and go get them for myself. It's the thought that counts though!

I show up to the Ames Starbucks (around 10am) and BAM they had them! The cashier told me that a lot of stores sold out early because they put them out before the release. That would explain why people had them on the 13th, even though they came out the 15th. None the less, I was super excited to get some from the collection! If you can get your hands on one (or more) I highly suggest it. They are super cute and of course adorable.

Dose of Disney: Disney x Coach

When I first saw the Disney x Coach collection I knew I had to picked something up from the collection. With a dose of luck a few items from the collection went on sale on Coach's website! So around Christmas time I picked up this adorable little red crossbody bag. With such a slight touch of Disney this bag is great for everyday wear. I purchased a fun extra dangle tag with a Mickey face for a little something extra.

For this Minnie Mouse inspired look I kept things super simple. I paired this black ruffled turtle neck with a pair of dark wash jeans. A velvet bow bracelet adds an extra pop of red. Top the look off with a red lip and you are ready for a chic Disney inspired look perfect for everyday wear.

With Minnie's Rock the Dots campaign I have been super inspired by Disney style. As you can tell I am a huge fan of not only Disney, but adorable brand collaborations it does. Be sure to follow Disney Style on social media and their blog to find more Disney style inspiration!

OOTD: Valentines Day

Happy almost Valentine's Day! Whether you are celebrating Galentines day with your favorite gal pals or having an evening out with your significant other Valentine's Day doesn't have to be all about couples and romance. I love the holiday for all of the pink and not to mention the leftover candy that goes on sale at Target. The Sweet Tarts purple and red heart packs are my weakness.

Since my boyfriend and I go to different schools, we celebrated Valentine's Day the weekend before. We went to our favorite Italian restaurant in Ames, +39. We always get the same caprese panini that is so good!

As for my outfit, I always love wearing shades of pink for Valentine's Day. This year I opted for this bright pink J Crew gingham printed top. The moment I saw this top in store it was like love at first sight, literally. So, when I saw it online on sale I knew I had to snatch it up! It is so cute and bright, perfect for spring.

I paired the top with a simple black skirt, black tights, and ballet flats. Oddly, it was around 56 degrees in Ames this past weekend so the weather was perfect. For once I wasn't freezing!

For my accessories I paired the look with my go-to pink Coccinelle bag from Italy. Then for a touch of sparkle I wore my new Sugarfix Baublebar for Target earrings. They have pink and iridescent sequins and rhinestones. For under $10 they are a steal! My rosegold Alex and Ani bracelets are from last years Valentine's Day gift. To finish the look I added a rosegold watch from Francesca's.

Dose of Disney: Disney Fashion Must Haves

It's a little less then a month until I will be in my favorite place on earth, Walt Disney World! So I am starting a little series called a Dose of Disney. In this series I will highlighting fun Disney fashion favorites and tips on how to plan and make the most of your Disney trip.

For my first post I am highlighting some of my new favorite places to get Disney gear, outside of the typical Disney store. There are so many great brand collaborations and Etsy shops that sell unique Disney apparel inspired by your favorite childhood characters. Here are a few that I am currently loving.......

Pretty Little Monograms | I've been ordering from Pretty Little Monograms a TON in prep for my Disney trip. My mom and I got some adorable shirts and monogramed items we plan to wear to the parks. I love how her shop combines Disney characters with your monogram.

Sail Bows Ears | Lilly Pulitzer prints + Minnie Mouse ears = perfection! I ordered a pair of Sail Bow Ears for my trip in a citrus print. With the matching dress I can't wait to rock it. These ears are a must have for anyone who loves Lilly and Disney.

Danielle Nicole Handbags | These bags are LIFE! I am patiently waiting to get the Mrs. Potts bag... it is a must have! The Tinker Bell and Snow White bags are equally as adorable.

Parkbound Buttons | Mix pop culture with Disney on a button and you get Parkbound Buttons! I have purchased a few from her and they are way to cute. Throw them on your backpack for the parks for an extra dose of Disney.

Magical Monograms | Jazz up your Magic Band with a fun Disney decal. Magical Monograms has a ton of cute decals, mugs, and more!

Minne Mouse x Keds | I ordered a white pair of Minnie Mouse Keds to walk around in the parks in. Keds are my go-to cute shoe to wear to the parks. They are comfortable but more stylish then a traditional sneaker.

Disney x Vans | The Little Bo Peep and Woody Vans are way to cute! They have a ton of other Toy Story designs as well.

UNIQLO x Disney | Classic Mickey and Minnie designs on hip basics is the UNIQLO Disney collection. I can't wait to shop this at their Disney Springs location.

What are your favorite shops to get Disney items? Let me know in the comments!

P.S. I love JORD Watches

With chilly weather all I want to do is cozy up in my apartment with a cup of coffee and turn on Netflix on repeat. One of my recent favorite accessories, which you have probably seen on my Instagram, is my JORD Frankie Watch. JORD offers both men's and women's watches that are unique compared to any other watch on the market. Their watches are made of real wood which creates a one of a kind texture. I love the natural glam look it gives. I chose a watch with a darker wood and a navy face. Brown and navy are major neutrals for me so they go with anything!

For a day of class and work I paired my JORD watch with a cozy turtleneck but added a touch of glam with sparkly tassel earrings. Combining the soft and sparkle is the perfect combination for winter time. I've been wearing my JORD watch on repeat recently. Whether I am headed to class, work, or out with friends my JORD watch always compliments my outfit.

My earrings are from the new Target Baublebar collection and I am loving them. I also score this turtle neck on sale at Target for under $9.
