Audrey Hepburn makeup look and OOTD

I was looking through my tumblr pictures and got inspired by a simple makeup look on Audrey Hepburn. So, I decided to re-create this look with a modern twist.
How to achieve this look:
First I used my Revlon color stay foundation, Estee Lauder bronzer, and a Milani blush for my face. My eye makeup is quite simple. I used a eye shadow primer to prime my eye lids. Following that I used a very light matte eye shadow all over my lid. Then using my favorite gel eye liner from Rimmel I made a thick line above my lash line with no wing. To finish it off I used my Rimmel Apocolips lip gloss/ stain in a bright red color.

Using my bun maker from Urban Outfitters I just put my hair in my signature ballerina bun.

The outfit: With this outfit I was inspired by classic J Crew style. My polka dot shorts are playful and fun and I paired them with this soft lace t-shirt to add texture. Underneath the lace I have a soft pink tank peeking through. Of course I finished the look with a statement necklace, arm candy, and pearl studs.

OOTD: Melting Pot Dinner

My friend and I decided to treat ourselves to a lovely dinner at the Melting Pot. For those of you who don't know what the melting pot is it is a fondue restaurant (which is amazingly yummy). Our birthday's are not far a part so we picked a day kind of in the middle of our birthdays!

The day we went was the day of the Chicago Blackhawks game. Of course us being from Chicago we probably should be shunned for missing the main part of the game. However we walked in after dinner and saw the last minuetes of the game and they won! It was a perfect end to a perfect evening.

The Outfit: I wore this black drop waist dress that is super simple. It had that 1920's vibe which I am all about because the Great Gatsby just made me want to become a flapper. I also want to add this dress was only $10 at H&M. So, I highly recommend going to your H&M when they have a sale because you get great deals! Then I paired it with this hot pink statement necklace and my neon wedges to add some color to the look.

The Arm Candy: This is my typical stack of the moment. If I am wearing pink I always wear my Kate Spade bangle!

Necklace: Target
Shoes: Kenneth Cole
Bracelets: Kate Spade, Alex and Ani, and Henri Bendel

Steal of the Century: Miranda's fashion find of the moment

I wondered into Nordstrom Rack yesterday to find some birthday/ graduation gifts for friends. Of course, going into any store, let alone Nordstrom Rack, I get easily distracted. But it's okay, we all do it. I wondered into the size 6 shoe isle and go straight to clarence. I was technically on a misson so I decided to skip the usual browsing I do and get down to what I might actually buy.

My eyes scan the boxes and boxes of shoes and I see the Sam Eldeman flats that I have seen in the same spot for quite some time. I pick them up in the hopes of them being marked down from their prior price (which was around $30 I would say). I was hoping to see a price tag for maybe $20 or hopefully $15. But, the price tag said $5. Practically falling over I blinked to make sure I wasn't imagining things but their it was the red clearance sticker read the small one digit number.

Of course when I first saw it I thought it had to be some kind of sick joke. But, I grabbed them and if worse comes to worse I can return them.

So, I grab some gifts and some good deals and head up to the register. The cashier scans the price of the shoes and what do you know...... They really were $5! Thrilled with the deal I felt accomplished and had such a buyers high. I mean you can't beat $5 for Sam Eldeman flats that were originally a hundred dollars. Heck, you can barley buy lunch with five dollars let alone designer shoes. I definitely think this deal is going down in the record books.

My Must Have Summer Accessories: Statement Necklaces

Statement Necklaces:
From bubble to bib statement necklaces have defiantly been making their mark on summer trends. Although, they have been a key part in fashion for a while now. Of course I fantasize over J Crews perfect neck candy. However not everyone has the budget for that (aka me). So, here are my statement necklace finds and favorites.

My favorites from my collection:
This gold piece is nice and chunky. It goes with practically everything because I personally wear more gold then silver. It is from H&M and I got it on sale for about $5. I highly suggest looking at sale stuff when it comes to this kind of trendy jewelry that may not be in style for a long time.

Also another H&M sale item. This one was around $3 I would say which is a great deal. The beads have a iridescent effect which is really cool up against different colors of clothing. Again, it is nice and junky and defiantly stands out.

When I want a pop of color I grab this bib necklace from Dry Goods. I got it on sale for about $10 and it was part of a buy 2 get one free deal. This magenta color surprisingly compliments a lot of things I have. It's a comfortable necklace and it isn't to bulky.

This necklace is surprisingly from Target. I had never looked at Target's jewelry until I got this necklace. It was on clearance for about $4. It's pretty nice quality and it just adds a bit of sparkle.

The classic bubble necklace, although mine is not from J Crew I got this one at Charming Charlie's for $20. But, I had a $10 off coupon so it was only $10! Which you really can't beat. This piece goes with so much. Although it jingles as you walk I still love it.

This Juicy Couture necklace is my go-to rose gold option. It has very nice stones all around and a pave toggle closure. Sometimes it gets a bit heavy but its worth the pain because I love this piece.

Lastly, a new addition to my collection. This necklace is from J Crew (factory outlet). I am not sure if it was ever at the original J Crew but it's still amazing if it wasn't. You can tell how nicely it's made which is good because even on sale this necklace was not $5. But, the outlet store had 50% the whole store so I had to take advantage of a good sale and pick it up.

How I style them:
Just like my arm candy I am always wearing something around my neck. Here are some of my outfits that feature a bold necklace. Statement necklaces, I think, take your outfits to the next level. It's that one tiny thing that makes everything come together. These outfits are from prior seasons.

My Must Have Summer Accessories: Army Candy

Arm Candy:
To be honest, I have no idea where the name arm candy came about. But, I do know that stacking bracelets and bangles is a amazing invention. In the summer time I always find myself reaching for my leather engraved bracelets, bangles, and sparkly little gems. However, this summer I took it to a whole new level. I'm pretty sure their isn't a day that I don't have some type of bracelet on my wrist! Here are a few of my favorite brands/ bracelets.

BCBG: So we all have seen these before, but they are just a leather band with different metal words. I have 3 of these super cute bracelets. I have a TRUE one which has rose gold letters and a neutral leather band. Then I have a FIERCE one which has gold letters with a black sparkly band. Then I have a rubber pink band with gold letters that say SWAG. These are just fun bracelets that can add some sass to your wrist. They are super comfortable and even fit my baby wrist so it is a good option for everyone.
Where to get them: Macy's, Nordstrom, and other department stores. I will say Macy's DEFIANTLY has the biggest selection though!

Marc by Marc Jacobs: Next, I have a few of these rubber Marc Jacob bracelets. They were on sale at a fabulous Nordstrom sale and I had to pick up a few. I had one previously and I really liked it so I invested in some more. These are honestly just a fun bracelet. I feel like a kid again with the rubber and the bright color options. I opted for more neutral colors that  I know I can wear. But, their are definitely more bright and bold options.
Where to get them: Nordstrom

Bangles: My two bangle obsessions at the moment are my Kate Spade bangle I received as a gift and my Alex and Ani bangle I got a Disney World. My Alex and Ani bangle I never take off. It actually fits my wrist and it is a souvenir from my trip. Supposedly it gives you energy or something like that. I cannot vouch for that but I do know that it's really cute. Then my Kate Spade bangle is bright and fun (like everything that is Kate Spade). It has white, hot pink, a lime green, and a coral color all the way around the band. The colors are separated with gold pyramid studs. Which is perfect seeing how I have gold pyramid stud earrings to perfectly match.

Henri Bendel: Although I only have one Henri Bendel piece, it does not mean I don't dream of more! I recently went into the city (Chicago) and wondered into the glorious Henri Bendel store. Mesmerized by the sparkle of the room and with new found birthday money in my pocket I had to get myself one. So I had to look past the beautiful colors to find a neutral piece that I could wear with anything. I found this amazing brown braided bracelet with gold and brown stones that wrap all away around. It is a beautiful piece and I haven't taken it off since I got it. You can definitely tell it is very well made so I know this piece is going to last me a long time.

Here are some of my past arm candy looks from my instagram and outfits. The London, Paris, New York, and rose gold link bracelet are from H&M. The spike and black pyramid stud bracelets are from Forever 21. Then rope like bracelet is from the Sperry store. It is made of real boat rope and has a junky silver clasp. Then the freedom bracelet is from Dry Goods.

In addition here are some of my favorite layering pieces. They are very dainty so they go along great with my more showy pieces.

From left to right: Betsey Johnson bought at Macy's, Aerie, Aerie, ASOS, Charming Charlie's.
These are my FAVORITE rose gold pieces. I am a huge rose gold junky so I wear these all the time.

OOTD: I heart you

Gotta love cheesey titles right? But regardless I feel like every girl has/ needs a top with a heart cut out because it's just adorable.
The Outfit:
I paired this red crop top with a almost nautical like skirt. The skirt is not quite a circle skirt but it definitely flares a tiny bit. Of course I had to pair this look with a fun red lip and my classic curls, which I basically do everyday of my life. Anyways, this outfit is super fun (well I guess I think it is haha) and super easy and comfortable.
