OOTD: Plaid Vest

Recently I picked up this new plaid vest from Land's End and I have to say I love it! I scored it on sale for $20 which is such a steal. In my opinion, it is a great dupe for the J Crew vests if you aren't sure you want to invest the money into an excursion vest. This vest is great for running errands, walking to class on campus, or for everyday wear. I wore my vest to dinner and a movie with the family. It was great for a movie because it kept me warm in the theater! (I am always so cold in theaters!)

I paired the colorful plaid with a simple blue oxford shirt. This creates a classic and preppy combination. To keep things simple I wore dark wash jeans with the look. For my shoes I wore my go-to black ballet flats.

To accessorize the look I added a new J Crew necklace that I recently picked up. This necklace is unlike anything else that I have so I thought it would be a great addition to the collection. You can never go wrong with gold and clear stones! For bracelets I wore a red Vineyard Vines rope bracelet, my Alex and Ani bangles, as well as my new KJP pearl bracelet. Then I added my Henri Bendel watch to finish the look.

To tie in the red in the vest I added a pop of color to my lips. I love tying in colors from my outfit into my makeup routine. Lipstick is a great way to not only add color to your face but to also complete your ensemble.
