{The Iowa State Rent the Runway team!}

As some of you may know I am a rep for Rent the Runway! So I work on the Iowa State Rent the Runway team. We recently hosted an event at Portobello Road boutique and it was our Spring Cleaning Trunk Show. 

So basically a trunk show is where we have a bunch of Rent the Runway dresses and we let girls come in and basically play dress up. This gives them an idea for sizes and styles that Rent the Runway has to offer. But, RTR has many more dresses then what we had but it is a little taste that we are able to give people. 

We had dresses from brands like Kate Spade, Lilly Pulitzer, and a lot of others! 

Not to mention we have super fun freebies from L'Oreal Paris to hand out to attendees! 

Also, I would like to mention our pairing with Portobello Road for this event! Portobello Road is an amazing boutique in Ames with super cute apparel and home decor. So if you ever find yourself randomly in Ames, Iowa be sure to stop by and take a peek. The store is literally the cutest thing on the planet.

How to: Style Rent the Runway dresses for multiple occasions 

As you may know, I am a Rent the Runway On Campus rep! So, I recently rented some dresses from their website www.renttherunway.com

I took advantage of the free sizing pack. This pack includes three dresses to try on to see what your sizing is. A stylist at Rent the Runway picks out the three dresses for you. 

I got the pack with all size 0 dresses because if it's a zero and doesn't fit its not going to fit! I was super happy with the first dress which was gorgeous! 

The first dress they sent me was a Opening Ceremony dress. There was gorgeous embroidery details in blue, green, silver, and blush pink colors.  It was fitted in the waist then flared out. This silhouette was super flattering on my figure. The dress was cut kind of low but it would be suitable for a party of some sort (nothing wrong with a little skin). 

The first way I styled the dress was how I wore it to class. I kept things super casual and added accessories to dress down the dress. Pairing the dress with a cardigan, scarf, and knee high socks made the dress more relaxed. Also, I wore a rose gold belt to accent the waist even more.

The next way you could style this look is a "work look". Pair the dress with a simple black or brown blazer to make it more professional. Slip on a pair of boots to match your blazer along with tights or knee socks. You can keep the same accessories or change them based on how professional your job may be.

The final look is a party or going out look. I simply just paired the dress with a pair of Mary jane style heels. Keeping the knee socks on it makes it a little more Blair Waldorf inspired. However, you can wear a pair of tights or nothing at all (depending on your weather situation). 

This dress has a lot of pretty details. The lace has a unique pattern and also has silver metallic woven into the fabric. A scalloped lace hem adds a cute small detail to the dress. An open back is also a great detail of the dress.

To simplify this look, I added a rhinestone hat and a pair of tall brown boots. You could also slip on a cardigan to make it more cozy and relaxed. The hat not only adds texture and of course sparkle but it keeps your head warm on a cold day. Just by changing the accessories in the look you can dramatically change your outfit.

Rent the Runway on Campus Letter's Day

The Outfit: Today was Rent the Runway letter's day. Which means I have to sport my Rent the Runway gear! The shirt I have says get nautical on it as well as Lilly loves Rent the Runway. In other words it's a Lilly Pulitzer t-shirt and I am obsessed with it to say the least. I paired the shirt with a denim like skirt. It's super comfy and casual but cute at the same time. Also, I sported my vintage magenta Keds. I accessorized with my J Crew statement necklace and some of my favorite bangles.

A very exciting thing came in the mail yesterday! As some of you may know I am an intern at Rent the Runway through their RTR On Campus program. So, our package with our starter campus kit came in the mail yesterday. 

I was not expecting a package this big so my roommate and I had to carry this huge box all the way up to the 8th floor of our building. We looked ridiculous to say the least but it was defiantly worth it!

The package included free RTR wear and goodies for me but also a ton of things that I am giving away around my campus. Including promo codes, gift cards, and L'Oreal Paris products and samples! 

This t-shirt is a Lilly Pulitzer shirt. I almost died a bit inside when I saw it! I'm already obsessed with it.

August 9th, 2013: 

I have some SUPER exciting news! I am happy to say I am officially a Rent the Runway on Campus rep. This program is super exciting and is perfect to gain experience and an internship on your resume on your own campus. 

There are many different positions that you can be on your campus team. My position is the Marketing Rep. I am in charge of creating a plan to spread the word of Rent the Runway on my college campus. 

I was excited for college but now I am even more excited to get on campus and start this amazing program. Don't worry I will keep you updated on all things Rent the Runway along my whole journey!
