OOTD: Plaid With Denim


Am I Bruno Mars? Maybe....
This outfit is a little hipster but also a little preppy. I combined a fun pair of multi colored plaid shorts with a short sleeve denim button down shirt. The shirt also features a peter pan collar detail. For accessories i wore a rope style white belt along with a fun fedora style hat. Basically when I wore this outfit I felt like I could be on a beach. But sadly I am still in crummy Iowa. However I am loving this somewhat preppy hipster ensemble!

Preppy Diaries: Plaid and Necklace Fun

July 26th, 2013:

In exactly one month I will be at my first day of college classes...... HOLY CRUD where did the summer go???

In regardless, I have the usual OOTD for you part of my Preppy Diaries series. Just me pretending I'm from the land of Vineyard Vines, Lilly Pulitzer, and monogram everything.

The Outfit:
The weather was super weird and cloudy all day today. But, I kept things light and airy with just a simple denim shirt (a major staple piece for me) and a plaid skirt. The waist is elastic with a tie band and it has buttons all down the front. Also, the great thing with this skirt is has pockets which is good to keep your phone in. Keeping with the preppy theme I wore my J Crew necklace paired with a longer monogram necklace I just got today actually. Finishing everything off with Pearl studs and curls, the usual.

I had a nostalgia moment when I saw the Lisa Frank folders. My whole childhood was Lisa Frank and Hello Kitty so I died. Also, can't forget my boys in the bottom right corner. (wink* wink*)
