OOTD: Aquamarine

Aqua in Action
How can you dress up a dress in a super girly way? Well here is one way! I added ultra girly accessories to this normally modern dress to create a fun and girly look. First I styled my hair in a donut bun. I feel like this hair style automatically gives you a girly touch. I used a hair donut that I purchased at Urban Outfitters. It works wonders.
For accessories I chose to wear a chunky black statement necklace to accent the black piping around the the bodice of the dress. My heels feature a fun bow and round toe for a feminine look. Overall, this look is super and perfect for going to my internship. Its classy but is super fun and bright.

OOTD: Little Black Dress

OOTD: Little Black Dress

Today's outfit was based on one of my new favorite songs on the new One Direction album Little Black Dress. So basically I formed a whole outfit around a song. (This is a new low. However I don't care.)
But, today was hipster Tuesday (a new thing I'm starting) so it was only fitting to try and wear a little black dress but make it edgy.
My outfit included a tight body con dress that I bought from Akira. It is the brand  Motel Rocks I believe. I then paired the simple dress with a pair of studded combat boots and a pair of patterned tights. This added some interest and texture to the look.

To make the look a little more girly I wore rose gold accessories with hot pink accents. Then to offset the pink I wore my Brandy Melville beanie that says Babe Cave. Because if that beanie isn't hipster I don't know what is!

Back Home Blog Haul

Blog Haul:
Akira, Dry Goods, and Gilly Hicks

I went home from school this past weekend for Labor Day. Of course coming home meant going shopping. No offense Iowa you have no good stores so I was in desperate need of some retail therapy.

Gilly Hicks had 40% off their whole store plus 50% off clearance. I got this one-zie pajama romper I would say. It is super soft and has white and navy stripes. It was around $9 because it was 50% off the sale price.

I have literally been eyeing this rope for forever. I am obsessed with their new monogram logo. This was originally around $50. So, obviously I waited for it to go on sale. This rope is super soft and comfy of course. (I'm actually wearing it while I am writing this post :) ) The quality is super nice and of course I love the stripes and the hot pink detailing.

This next dress I got from Dry Goods. Again, I have been eyeing this dress for quite sometime now. I saw it in their clearance area the past few trips to the mall. Finally, it got down to $13 from around $50 originally. I'm super excited to wear this dress to some type of sorority event most likely. The lace and piping like detailing makes it have a little bit more interest then your average maxi dress.

The rest of these items are from Akira.
These two necklaces I got for $10 because they had a buy one get one free deal. Originally, together, they would have been around $40. Getting both for $10 is not that bad of a deal if you ask me!
The one on the left is very glamorous and makes a statement. The one on the right is more simple but super cute and dainty.

I got these shorts mainly for going out. They were only $10 so you can't really leave them behind. They have a symmetrical tribal print with bright oranges, purples, and blues. They fit pretty snug and are also high waisted.

Akira always gets me with their deals. One of their promotions was get two sunglasses for $10. So of course I bought two pairs of sunglasses. I got a pair of basic aviators because oddly enough I don't own anything like these. Then I got this super fun bright blue pair. The lenses are super circular which I like on my face.

The last thing I got was this houndstooth body con dress. It has a peplum detail at the waist and the fabric has a nice texture to it. At $10 you can't top this super chic dress.

BLOG HAUL: Akira, Forever 21, & Dry Goods

Blog Haul: Forever 21, Akira, and Dry Goods

The first two thing I got are from forever 21. I got two pairs of socks that are super cute. One has a panda and is black and white. The panda also has a little red bow on. The other pair has a big on them and they are grey and white.
Then this shirt. This shirt basically is my life in a shirt. It is just a white muscle tank that says #ootd which is my favorite hashtag of them all.
To see all my #ootd check out my Instagram: miranda_pollitt19

The next two things I got from Akira. They had their sale (50% off sale items) going on at the Akira in my mall. So, I picked up a few things. Both of these skirts were $5. The first one is a black and white circle skirt and it has a pattern of jewels on it. It's a very unique skirt and for only $5 you can't beat it! Then I got this lime green peplum pencil skirt. The fabric is kind of like tweed and has a hint of sparkle.

I also got two accessories. First I got this ring that is kind of J Crew inspired I think. It was on sale at Akira and it was buy one get one free so I got something for my mom and got this for free. Then from Dry Goods I got these heart shaped sunglasses for only $3.

The last thing I got was from Akira as well. It is a plaid dress with cutouts on the side as well as a deep V. In the shoulders there is a little padding which gives it some structure.

Blog Haul: Topshop & Akira

Hey guys! So Back-School-Saturday was August 10th and I went downtown Chicago to Water Tower and Topshop. I got a few things from Topshop using the 20% off student discount. But, mainly I got a TON of stuff at a store exclusive to Chicago called Akira. So here is my blog haul!

I just love Topshop bags don't you?

The first thing I got at Topshop was this amazing statement necklace. Some of their sale jewelry was 75% off including this piece. It was originally $30 so I got a great deal on it! Plus the 20% off wasn't bad either. But, if you missed BTSS I do know Topshop you get 15% off all the time with a student ID.

Next I got this bracelet which has a bunch of fun colored mirror like charms. This was originally $28 and was also 75% off. The last thing I got at Topshop was this pair of cute frilly socks. I love these type of socks with boots or with heels when it gets a little colder. For $2 I couldn't leave them!

Next is all the stuff I got from Akira. Akira was having 50% off all their clearance items. So you took half off the sale prices which was amazing! Both of these pleather lazer cut out skirts were only $5 each. Basically that is the steal of the century! I picked up a silver metallic one and a red one. The fit very well and are kind of the shape of a circle skirt when you wear them.

There sale jewelry was buy one get one free so I got these two super cute anchor earrings for $3! One is a aqua blue and the other pair are red.

Another skirt I got was this black and white striped skirt. It is high waisted and flares out again like a circle skirt. It's a super cute and flirty piece to add to my many skirts. It ended up being $15. Also I got this lace crop top. Is lined in the front then it is sheer in the back. This top was only $6!

Next I got this striped peplum top. The final price was only $10. So, that was a great deal I had to take advantage of. Then I got these socks for fun because popcorn is one of my favorite foods. I think they are pretty darn cute if you ask me.

The last thing I got were this pair of black shorts. They have a gold nautical like buttons on the front which adds a cute touch. These will be perfect to transit into fall and winter. I plan on wearing them with tights, boots, or knee high socks.
