Teen Vogue BTS Campus Party Snapshots

This past weekend I was lucky enough to host a Teen Vogue Back to Campus party with some of my friends! Teen Vogue sent us a TON of goodies from Land's End, Maybelline, Garnier Frutis, Clean and Clear, and more! And of course we all got copies of the fabulous September issue.

We snacked, snapped, photos, and chatted and it was super fun! In the past I've hosted Teen Vogue parties as a part of their Teen Vogue It Girls program. Every time they have been oh-so generous and sent me awesome goodies and freebies to share with my friends.

I hosted the party at my apartment and decked it out in fun decorations they sent us. To make a DIY photo booth I used the red table cloth as a photo backdrop. Then I hung fun tissue decorations and balloons everywhere! Not to mention these adorable photo booth props were super fun for photos.

Be sure to head to my Instagram or search the #WeWorkWithTeenVogue hashtag to explore other people's fabulous Back to Campus parties!

What I Wore: The Brookfield Zoo

Hello everyone! Now that summer is over, I am longing for fun summer days! During my last few weekends of summer I did a ton of fun activities including going to the Brookfield Zoo. Here is what I wore for a casual da at the zoo with my family.

For a day at the zoo I wanted something comfortable but of course cute. So, I paired a stretchy Lilly tank top with a pair of bright pink chino shorts. During the summer I live in these Lilly tanks because they are uber comfortable and flattering on my petite frame. I especially love this one because of the flamingo print because duh flamingos are the best! Sadly, at the Brookfield Zoo they don't have flamingos, so I settled for taking my pictures near my second favorite animal the giraffes!

I wore these white canvas Sperrys because they are also very comfortable. For a day at the zoo you do a lot of walking so comfortable shoes are imperative. Some Sperry's can get uncomfortable, but these are the best!

For accessories I wore my go-to vineyard vines gold skinny belt along with some of my favorite KJP bracelets of the moment. I couldn't help but wear my pink and green Vickers Bow bracelet with the elephants on it! My necklace is a simple Kendra Scott necklace which has been another go-to recently.

The Brookfield Zoo Snapshots

Summer may be officially over, but I thought I would show my adventures at The Brookfield Zoo to remember a fun day of summer. My dad's office had a company outing at the zoo for everyone and their families so naturally I had to attend! I love the zoo so it was a fun day walking around, having lunch, and a soft pretzel (my favorite).

I started the day off with a fun sprinkled donut (of course!). Be sure to follow along on my Instagram to see my Instagram stories! I've been loving them. It's way easier for me to post content all in one place versus in two separate apps. I've been showcasing day-to-day moments through my Instagram stories.

My mom and I sported Lilly, of course! I love her adorable Lilly tee she paired with J Crew shorts and a Draper James belt. Can you tell we are related? I wore a Lilly tank with J Crew chinos along with a pair of Sperrys. Be on the lookout for an OOTD post soon!

What's your favorite animal to visit at the zoo? Mine are giraffes! Let me know in the comments!

Chicago Cubs Game Snapshots

For my last weekend of summer I spent Saturday at the Chicago Cubs game on a rooftop venue. It was an amazing time and I loved experiencing Wrigleyville in it's full glory. My OOTD post on what I wore to the game is coming soon, but I have to mention my adorable Fraternity Collection hat! I looooove their hats and they are great to pair with any look. Be sure to use the code mirandapollitt16 for 10% off your order!

The day was very overcast, but it made for a less "hot" day which was perfect!

I wore some of my favorite KJP items for the day! Currently I'm loving this rope bracelet. It's super neutral and I can wear it with anything!
Where it's from: KJP leather and rope bracelet, Alex and Ani bangles, Michele watch

My Lauren James bow shorts from the Pink Friday sale arrived just in time for me to wear them to the game! I paired the shorts with a simple white J Crew top to rep the Cubs colors in a subtle way.

With summer coming to a close what has been your favorite summer memory? Let me know in the comments!

Lilly Pulitzer #AfterPartySale: What I Bought

Today is the day! I'm sure you have seen a ton of posts on the Lilly After Party Sale, but this is a huge deal! Lilly NEVER does sales except for twice a year so, if you ever wanted something from Lilly the time to buy is now. Per usual, I picked up some pieces I have been eyeing for a while and some fun little extras! I can't wait for my package to arrive so I can wear these things before it gets to cold. So, here is what I got at the Lilly After Party Sale.

First thing I went in looking for was a pop over. I've been really wanting a pop over for so long so this was my number one priority once I got into the site. Luckily I woke up super early and only waited 5 min to get into the sale! It's key to wake up right when the sale opens. But, normally they still have a ton of stuff left after the initial rush so don't hesitate to try and shop. I also picked up this fun skort. I LOVE their skorts. They are perfect for an easy summer look. This flamingo print is one of my favorites so I opted for this one over some of the other choices.

I don't own a romper yet, so I loved this one that has a dress like style to it. Not to mention the colors are gorgeous!

Also during the sale I picked up some fun accessories. I love their phone cases so I picked up two and both were under $15! Even if you don't want to spend money on a Lilly dress or clothing piece you can still get some fun accessories for super affordable prices. In addition, I picked up some coasters for my apartment and a pair of croakies because I live in these things.

Lastly, I got three more casual dresses. Right now all of my Lilly dresses are more formal and fancy. So, I wanted to get some more casual pieces I could wear on a more day to day basis. This elephant print is so cute and I've been loving this orange citrus print as well. I'm also thinking ahead to fall and these quarter sleeve dresses could even be paired with tights so *winning*.

That is everything I bought from the Lilly sale! I splurged a ton, but I know I wear these pieces 24-7 during the summer and when I'm anywhere warm. So, to me it's so worth it! This is the only time I shop at Lilly so I usually pick up a lot.

What are you picking up at the Lilly sale?? Let me know in the comments I would love to hear what goodies you picked!

OOTD: Flamingo Pink

This mural in Chicago is my dream mural. If you know anything about me you know I love flamingos. So, naturally when I was in Chicago I had to stop by this giant bright mural for some photos. With pinks, greens, and teals this wall is so bright and colorful! It's a newer mural in Chicago so be sure to check it out if you are in the River North area.

As for my outfit I transitioned my work look into a dinner look. I switched out my jeans for a navy skirt to dress up for The Hampton Social for dinner. Wearing button downs to work is a must because my office is always chilly! I usually will layer a sweater over it is as well. Today I wore this fun anchor button down which I've been loving this summer. I paired the print with a simple bottom to balance things out.

For accessories I added another pop of an anchor print with my KJP Vickers Bow bracelet. I also wore my go-to pink pearl anchor bracelet and some Alex and Ani bangles. In addition, I wore a fun pair of glitter bow Kate Spade studs to add an extra touch of pink.

OOTD: Ice Cream Cones

Ice cream is one of my favorite summer treats. Who can say no to cold ice cream on a hot day? That's why I love these Topshop ice cream cone shorts. I picked these up forever ago, but they are still a favorite of mine.

By mixing print and texture I created a different look from my norm. I paired the printed shorts with a simple white eyelet cropped top. With the white tank top I pulled out a less dominant color from the print, but it still looks great together. My hot pink tote and brown sandals bring out the other colors found within the print.

For accessories I mixed rose gold with gold. My bracelets include my go-to Alex and Ani bangles with a Kate Spade glitter bow bangle and a rose gold watch. I also wore my favorite KJP pearl bracelet that features these gorgeous pink pearls! To finish the look off I wore this rhinestone J Crew statement necklace which I love.

This look is perfect for grabbing dinner, date night, or exploring around town. We found this adorable mural in our local downtown area and it was super cute! While downtown we also picked up Cookie Dough Creations which is raw cookie dough you can eat! It's super yummy but also super rich.
