Sew Cute Travels: Dagne Dover Landon Carryall Review

I've been meaning to do this post for so long but, now seems like the perfect time because my go-to travel duffle from Dagne Dover is on sale! That's right this week all of Dagne Dover is 20% off. This is a great deal as these don't go on sale all that often.

But, now for my review.... guys this bag is awesome! I've been searching for a great duffle bag for travel for some time. For the past few months I've been using this Landon Carryall and I am obsessed. It has everything I was looking for in a travel duffle. First off, it is light weight to begin with. The idea of a cool designer leather duffle sounds like a good idea. For petite gals like myself I just can't carry a heavy duffle plus all of my stuff! It's just too much. This duffle is lightweight to begin with so even when I have it stuffed to the brim it is still manageable. Another great feature is that it fits under the seat on an airplane. I have taken it on both Southwest and small (I mean small) Delta flights and it has fit fine on both airlines! This was huge for me because I now bring this duffle + my Away bigger carryon and it is the perfect system. You can get smaller sizes but I think the large is the best size.

Here is what I normally fit into the bag: One or sometimes two 13inch laptops, DSLR camera, a pair of shoes (or two sometimes), 3-4 Stoney Clover Lane mini pouches, snacks, wallet, sunglasses, and other small essentials.

I'm telling you now this bag holds everything! On each side it has a shoe compartment so you can easily store two pairs of shoes. Or you can slip a water bottle into one of these compartments. It has a little detachable bag for dirty clothes. I keep extra underwear in here in case I ever get stranded without my luggage. A laptop sleeve that can hold a 13inch laptop. When I want my work and personal computer I fit both of them in this compartment. I will say if you stuff it to the brim it may not fit under the seat. But, I've stuffed it pretty full and have still been able to shove it down there!

When it comes to durability the bag has held up great, even it being a lighter color. It hasn't torn or shown any huge signs of wear. Might I add I use this bag on pretty much every trip I go on. So, it's probably been on 30+ flights/ trips this year alone. It really is a great bag. Dagne Dover bags are made of neoprene which I think scares some people. So far I haven't had any issues with it though!

Now the bags come with a sleeve which you can slide onto your suitcase handle. This is HUGE! Mine doesn't have that which I am sad about. But, if you end up with an older model I just loop the handles of the bag onto the suitcase handle and it does the trick. Now the duffles come with that feature and it is a game changer. I actually just ordered the backpack that has this feature so I am excited about trying it out.

Honestly, I cannot say enough good things about this bag. I purchased this bag on sale a while back and I'm so glad I did. Could not recommend it enough for anyone looking for a great ravel bag or weekender bag. It holds so much, is stylish, and is durable.

Hopefully if you were on the fence about purchasing a Dagne Dover duffle this has helped you in your decision making process! Or maybe it exposed you to a great new travel bag to try. This system I have found really works for me and hopefully it inspired you to try it out!

Dagne Dover's sale runs through December 4th! Nordstrom is price matching as well so you can shop on either site to get the discount.

What is your go-to travel bag? Let me know in the comments below!

Sew Cute Holiday: Nordstrom Black Friday Sale Picks

Recently my go-to shopping destination has been Nordstrom. That's what happens when you open up a Nordstrom credit card I guess! This year they are doing a great Black Friday/ Cyber Monday sale. Usually they don't run any promotions so this is huge. Below I've listed some of my favorite items I've found on sale. The sale features Tory Burch on sale, which I know you all love! They are actually price matching Tory Burch's sale on their website which is a major perk of shopping on Nordstrom. You can take advantage of other store's sales but still earn Nordstrom rewards #score. There are a few other great finds as well!

My go to pair of leggings | Zella Live in High Waist Leggings

Sew Cute Holiday: Jetsetter Gift Guide

As you may know I am legit always on the go! I've been on over 30 flights this year alone. So, I like to think of myself as the jetsetting expert. That is why I knew I had to create another travel themed gift guide this year. All of these items I use while traveling! These products are trusted and tested by me. You can also look at this as my travel essentials guide as well as a gift guide. After many trial and errors I've finally found my go-to travel products and a system that works for me. All of these items are included in that system!

When it comes to beauty travel essentials I have a few key items. I am really loving this Summer Friday's jet lag mask. My skin always gets dry when I travel on planes. This helps the cause. You can put it on at night or even while you are on the plane if you have a long flight. Teleties or Invisibobble are my go-to hair ties while traveling. They don't crease your hair so it makes them the perfect hair tie to throw up your hair on the plane then be ready to let it down once you land. It also helps reduce static in my hair by putting it up on the plane ride! A mini wet brush is also an essential. I rely on my WetBrush daily so having a mini one helps fit it in my travel bag easier.

My main travel essential is Stoney Clover Lane pouches. I use them for everything! My makeup, skincare, hair products, plane essentials, and more. I use small pouches for my hair and makeup products then place those into a large pouch. Plane essentials are stored in my mini pouch that I always keep in my duffle bag. In there I keep a pair of headphones, medicine, lip balm, hair ties, and other things I may want easy access to on the plane.

Away and Dagne & Dover are my go-to luggage brands. I swear by the Bigger Carry-On by away. Easily I can pack for a 4 day trip in this suitcase! It really compresses everything and makes it so easy to pack in. Plus, it is uber stylish. Ditch the old ugly black suitcase and get someone on your list this amazing bag! Then the duffle bag I swear by is the large Landon Carryall from Dagne & Dover. It has a ton of great compartments and can expand. You can put a 13 inch laptop (i've put two in it), two pairs of shoes, and other essentials. This bag saves lives people! I've tried so many combinations of bags and suitcases and this is what works. Plus they are easy on the eyes.

Other travel essentials include my foldable Longchamp tote. I usually bring this as my purse on trips as you can fold it up in your duffle to get through security and on the plane. Then unfold it when you are ready to use it! That way you don't have to waste your personal item on a small purse. My Barefoot Dreams cardigan is a great travel piece as well. It's super cozy so it's great to wear on the plane or while you are hanging out in your hotel room. If the person your shopping for travels for work I recommend this little envelope to keep receipts in! Keeping a special place for receipts keeps me super organized on my work trips. Lastly I love these travel cubes! I've had them for a long time but they hold up great and help keep my suitcase organized.

Another great gift idea for the jetsetter on your list is gift cards to their preferred airline or money towards TSA pre-check! TSA pre-check saves lives people!!! I've had it for a while now and I zoom through security. I don't think I've ever waited more then 10min in the security line. It is amazing. Airline gift cards also make a great gift! In the past I got a Southwest gift card for Christmas and it helped me pay for a fun trip to visit friends. So, that is also another great idea to help the jetsetter your shopping for get to their next destination.

I hope you found this post helpful whether you are shopping for a travel queen or looking to up your travel system. These are all products I trust and I couldn't recommend them enough! Safe travels to all and to all a goodnight!

Sew Cute Holiday: Black Friday Sales I'm Shopping

It's the week of Thanksgiving! Which means it is almost the biggest weekend of shopping for the year. There are so many dang sales going on that it is honestly overwhelming. So, I am keeping it simple and only highlighting sales I plan on shopping. It seems that usually during Black Friday or Cyber Monday stores are running their best promotions. However, this year they are starting earlier than ever! If you didn't already know this year there is basically a whole week less of shopping time before Christmas because Thanksgiving is so late. Super weird, but I think that is why stores are running promotions early. So, we might as well take advantage of it! Below are the sales I am planning to personally checkout this week. I will update this post as codes, items, and more get released so be sure to check back.

STONEY CLOVER LANE | 25% off everything begins 11.29 at 12am est. Sale will automatically apply at checkout no coupon code needed. *Does not apply to Stoney Clover Lane x Lele Sadoughi items. This is Stoney Clover's biggest sale of the year! I always talk about SCL so if you were thinking about getting something during Black Friday is legit the time to do it. They normally don't ever have sales so take advantage!

LELE SADOUGHI | Lele hasn't fully announced their Black Friday dates and details. But, they have posted on social media that it is happening, os that is enough for me! I will update this with the information regarding the sale once it is available. They do other sales here and there but I think this will probably be the best sale of the season if you have been eyeing a headband.
20% off $75+ with code THANKFUL20
25% off $350+ with code THANKFUL25
30% off $1,000+ with code THANKFUL30

J. CREW | J. Crew will be running 50% off most full price items plus an extra 60% off sale items.
What I'm eyeing- bejeweled crewneck sweater | lace top | embellished hair bow | gemstone sweater | button detail sweater | pave bow drop earrings

NORDSTROM | Nordstrom will be publishing their Black Friday deals on Wednesday November 26th at 12:01am. At that time you'll be able to preview the deals and promotions they will be running! I will report back with what good items I see on sale once they are all released. But, from their preview looks like the Spanx faux leather leggings which will be on sale! Also, a PSA Nordstrom is price matching a ton of items. So, if you have a Nordstrom card or are a Nordy Club member be sure to check Nordstrom first so you can get point! For example Madwell is carried at Nordstrom and they may price match whatever promotion they are running.

KENDRA SCOTT | Kendra Scott is running an EXCLUSIVE promotion for 20% off through the LIKEtoKNOWit app! This is only available through the app for today only. Head on over to the app to shop my favorites from the sale there!

TUCKERNUCK | Use the code FUN15 for 15% off pretty much everything!
What I'm eyeing- faux fur collar jean jacket | Dudley Stephens fleece

MONICA VINADER | You can get up to 30% off over at Monica Vinader. One of my all time favorite bracelets that I wear everyday is 30% off making it under $200. Plus it's a great gift for a girlfriend or daughter. You can shop it here. Nordstrom is price matching Monica Vinader as well! You can shop my bracelet here on Nordstrom's website.

GAL MEETS GLAM | Pink Week at Gal Meets Glam begins Wednesday November 27th at 12PM EST to Monday December 2nd at 11:59PM EST. This will be their biggest discounts ever on select dresses, sweaters, jumpsuits and more. Most styles on sale were released between July 2019 and September 2019. Items will be up to 70% off! You must sign up for emails to receive sale information.
What I'm eyeing- Cecily petite | Kelsey | Emilie

DAGNE & DOVER | My go-to duffle bag for traveling is on sale! You can shop Dagne & Dover through their website or Nordstrom is price matching. I picked up this Large Dakota Backpack on Nordstrom's site. But, you can also shop it on the Dagne & Dover site here! There are more color options available on Dagne & Dover directly so if you are looking for a specific color check there.
My go to duffle bag- Large Landon Neoprene Carryall Duffle

Sew Cute Holiday: Preppy Gift Guide

If you put the prep in preppy this gift guide is for you! Some of these items are daily essentials for me while others are currently on my wishlist. For the classic, timeless, and preppy girl any of these picks would make great gifts under their tree.

Items I own and love include my Bean Boots, Lele Sadoughi pearl headband, Monica Vinader bracelet, and a classic Gucci crossbody bag. Also, I adore my Barbour jacket, beanie, and scarf of course! These are all high quality items that I use on a weekly basis. Most of these items have a timeless feel. Assuring the recipient will keep these pieces for years to come.

My Lele Sadoughi headbands have quickly become my favorite accessory of the season. It really makes a difference investing in the real deal vs. a cheap knock off. The imitations are fine, but Lele headbands are made impeccably and are actually comfy. Another staple everyday piece for me is my Monica Vinader friendship bracelet. Don't worry you can still gift it to yourself! Or at least I did.... I wear this baby every. single. day. Yup, everyday! I love how classic and simple it is. Plus, it isn't super bulky but still makes a nice statement. Also, it easily stacks with my other bracelets.

The Gucci crossbody I included was a gift I received a while back. It is probably my most used designer bag I own! I think it is the perfect everyday size and fits my wallet, phone, lipstick, and other small essentials.

Preppy picks on my list this year include a MZ Wallace quilted tote and a Dudley Stephens fleece popover! I really think both of these pieces are classics that I'll wear season after season. Plus how cozy does that fleece popover look? And so chic!

What is on your preppy wishlist this year? Let me know in the comments!

Dose of Disney: Olaf Disneybound

My name is Olaf and I like warm hugs! It's Frozen week at Sew Cute Style in honor of Frozen II. This is my first fashion post of the week, featuring a fun Olaf Disneybound.

Well you could say I am a subtle Olaf with this Disneybound. I wore this top and then I realized it reminded me of Olaf's snowman buttons! Cute right? This is the perfect example of pulling inspiration from Disney characters without it being too costumey.

Can we also talk about how amazing this blouse is? Another great piece from the Atlantic Pacific x Halogen collection from Nordstrom. This piece is very similar to my all time favorite pink bow blouse from last years collection. You can't argue with oversize bows, pearls, and a button down shirt! I paired this gorgeous blouse with my go-to Lele Sadoughi headband. Pearls on pearls on bows is my kind of style.

Where it's from:
Jeans: J. Crew
Boots: Cole Haan
Headband: Lele Sadoughi (similar)

Who is your favorite Frozen character? Mine is for sure Olaf! Let me know your favorite in the comments.

Sew Cute Holiday: Beauty Gifts

After shopping around in stores a little bit I have noticed beauty brands have really stepped up their holiday gift sets! Between Sephora, Ulta, even Macy's I've seen some really awesome gifts that are a great value! Not to mention a lot of stores are running free gift with purchase promotions so there are a ton of freebies up for grabs. I think the Black Friday sets will be even better this year too! For the Sephora items be sure to use the code HOLIDAYSAVE if you are a Sephora Beauty Insider member for up to 20% off your purchase!

Today I wanted to share a few of the beauty sets I am eyeing. Like I said there are soooo many good ones this year. It was hard to narrow down! From skincare, makeup, haircare, to nail polish there are a ton of goodies to choose from. These would make great stocking stuffers, secret Santa gifts, or white elephant exchange gifts.

What gift set are you eyeing? The Laneige lip set is calling my name. Plus I am loving the Hello Kitty OPI nail polish advent calendar! Let me know your favorite in the comments.

I always love creating gift guides and finding the coolest gifts for anyone on your shopping list!

Every year I like compiling a list of things on my Christmas list! This year this list has a wide variety of products. From beauty, Disney finds, clothing, and accessories this list covers it all. Winter Skincare: Sephora Sale!

The Sephora Holiday Bonus sale is upon us! This sale give Sephora Beauty Insider members up to 20% off your entire purchase. Woah, Sephora barely has sales so you have to be sure to take advantage of these deals! If you haven't already be sure to sign up for Sephora Beauty Insider to qualify for the discount. Then you can shop on your tier level's time frame. If you are a Rouge member you can start shopping now with the code HOLIDAYSAVE. Not Rouge status? No worries! You can shop the sale starting November 7th and ending November 11th.

Today I've rounded up my favorite skincare products that I am currently using. Every product on this guide I have used, tested, and in some cases even repurchased. I really stand behind all of these products! When recommending skincare I try not to show off anything I haven't used because I want to make sure it's good. My skin is dry but sometimes oily. The oily part is a recent development. So, if you have combo skin or dry skin these recommendations will be great for you!

TATCHA FACE PRIMER | This silk skin primer really helps prevent makeup from getting deep into your pours. Apply it with your fingers to create a nice base layer for your makeup!

TATCHA DUO | I've really started loving Tatcha skincare recently. The price tag is sometimes steep but that's why I love the travel size versions! They last so long and that way you can try it out before you commit to a full size product. This set includes a moisturizer and a cleanser. Or you can opt for a larger set to try more products!

ROSE FACE MIST | I got this product as part of my Sephora Play subscription and I really like it! It's a nice little mist to use to refresh your skin. Plus it smells like dreamy roses.

CLINIQUE FACE WASH | The last Sephora sale I picked up this face wash and I love it! It's a great everyday face wash as it doesn't aggravate my skin or have a scent. Super easy and simple. Plus, I feel like you can always trust Clinique!

PETER THOMAS ROTH CREAMS | Okay, these two moisturizers are my holy grail. Don't be scared of the price because these babies work. I've repurchased the Cloud Cream about 2 times and the Green Releaf once. If you have dry skin in the winter these are must have products. I alternate which one I use each night. But, if you had to pick one I would for sure recommend the Cloud Cream. My skin gets flaky and gross in the winter and this is the only moisturizer I have found that really helps! This is the best time to pick it up as it never goes on sale!

CAUDAILE SKINCARE | I've tried all three of these Caudaile products and I love them! This detox mask is great for travel, the foam cleanser is also something I throw in my travel bag, then the moisturizer is a great clean option! If you had to try one I'd for sure recommend the mask. I had a mini version and I used every last drop. It's great for getting your skin back to a good place if you've had a breakout or you've been traveling a ton!

DRUNK ELEPHANT | Another more pricey brand that I think is worth the hype. This jelly cleanser is one of my favorites I've tried. But, if you want to try minis of the products I love this set! Their products are also green so if you are looking for good vegan skincare Drunk Elephant may be for you. I keep this face wash in my shower and use pretty much every day at night!

MASKS | Summer Friday's Jet Lag mask and Glow Recipe's watermelon mask are also items I'd recommend picking up. This Jet Lag mask legit saves lives after I've traveled or while I'm traveling. I have the smaller size that I keep in my cosmetic travel bag. It gives you a TON of moisture which is great after hopping off a plane. For longer flights you could even apply it on the plane. If you are looking for another great travel size mask I love this one from Glow Recipe. It smells delicious and also gives you soft skin.

CLARISONIC | If you are in the market to try a skincare tool during the Sephora sale is a great time to try one. I've had the Clarisonic Mia Prima and I really like it! It gives you a super deep clean that hands just can't give you. Again, pick this buddy up while it is on sale!

What are your skincare must-haves that you'll be picking up from the sale? Let me know in the comments!
