Dose of Disney: My pin collection!

Over the years I have collected quite a few pins! It wasn't until recently that pins and flair have become really popular in fashion and in the Disney community as well! So, today I wanted to share my Disney pin collection. This collection has been growing since my very first Disney trip, over 10+ years ago. But, some of these pins are from more recent trips of mine as well as some from small shops.

This first pin board is my older pins. These include some form the parks as well as some from the Disney Cruise. My favorite pins on this board are the ones I picked up from the Disney Magic ship on my first Disney Cruise. They had this great Golden Mickey pin which was based off of the stage show from the cruise. I also love my Marie purrrfect pin and the sassy Daisy pin! These were some of my first pins I ever got.

This second pin board has a combination of a bunch of different pins! My Minnie Girl and Minnie ballerina pin, along with dumbo, are also some of my original pins from when I was a kid. Then I also have some pins from my Disney cruise including a Castaway Cay pin and a Disney Vacation Club cruise pin. Also on this board are my Disneyland Paris pins I picked up two years ago at the Disneyland Paris park. I picked these two pins because I thought they were very Parisian inspired!

The coffee cup pins are from Casey and the Bear, aka Parkbound Buttons. I love this collection she did! I also have pins from my most recent trip to Disney. I became into the mystery pin packs that Disney sells during my last trip! On this board I have some from a Beauty & the Beast pack, the hot air balloon pack, and a small pink mystery bag! Also, I have some pins I picked up on Ebay. If you are ever looking for a particular pin I highly recommend checking out Ebay.

My last board of pins is more bare in comparison to the other boards! This board has some Disney Park pins, a lot of Jambo Joe magicgram pins, and some Disney Vacation Club pins (from forever ago). I also have some pins from some other small shops including Hazel & Bean and The Mermaid Harp.

I keep these pin boards hanging up in my room to display all of my pins! These boards are from the Target dollar spot this past Valentine's Day. But, you can just use a normal cork board or other bulletin board to display your pin collection to achieve a similar look.

Do you collect Disney pins or other flair? Let me know what your favorite pin is in your collection, or mine, in the comments below!

Dose of Disney: How I plan my park outfits

Going to Disney means so many exciting things: planning hotels, travel, Fastpasses, dinner reservations, and OF COURSE your outfits. I take Disney outfit planning very seriously. Honestly, probably to serious, but who cares. So today I wanted to share my process of how I plan Disney outfits.

Side note: A lot of these tips and strategies could be used to plan out a normal vacation! Just swap out Mickey ears and these tips could work for a any sort of trip!

Step 1: Before a Disney trip, and let's be honest before I even know when I'm going to Disney next, I shop for new Disney tees. What you purchase or already have will serve as the foundation for your outfits! Once you have started purchasing your Disney tees or other clothing you want to wear to the parks the planning can begin.

Step 2: To start the planning process I create a schedule of what we will be doing each day. 99.9% of the time we are going to a park each day. So, I start by creating a note in my phone with the schedule for the trip. You can also do this on paper, but I like to constantly change mine and update it as items that I may have ordered arrive and what not. Then I go day by day and decide what I want the major show piece to be for each outfit. Now that I am a Disney small shop addict I have a stock pile of tees that I am waiting to wear to the parks! So, usually this is my key piece I am planning the rest of the outfit around. But, for you it may be a skirt, a pair of ears, a Lilly dress. Whatever it may be this is the foundation of the rest of the outfit!

Step 3: Next I like to decide what bottoms and shoes I will wear with each look. I usually make this pretty vague until the trip comes closer. I'll say pair with denim shorts and sneakers. Then once the trip comes closer I will be more specific and say the exact pair of shorts or skirt I want to pair with what. Then for shoes I try and bring 3 pairs of sneakers and one pair of sandals for a week long trip. This way I have a variety of sneakers for different looks, but they all are versatile and neutral. Since I don't wear sandals in the parks I usually just bring a pair of Jack Rogers in case we go to Disney Springs or a nicer dinner. I record all of this in the same note page on my phone!

Step 4: Accessories! Yes, I even plan my outfits down to the accessories. This includes buttons/ pins, Minnie ears, and handbags. I always carry a backpack with me in the parks, which remains the same the whole trip. But, last trip I carried a cute stylish crossbody with me each day and it really was functional for me. In my crossbody I kept my phone, credit cards, and other things I needed to reach for constantly. Then I kept things like sunscreen, a jacket, and water in my backpack. Again, I record all of this in my notes page.

These are all of the steps I take to plan out my Disney outfits! This gets me excited for my trip, as well as organized. Not to mention, this helps me know to stop buying more shirts, but I always seem to buy more #oops. But, this gives me a visual record of what I'm planning on wearing on my trip.

The countdown to my next Disney trip begins! It's about 5 months away so be on the lookout for more Disney content coming soon.

Sephora VIB Sale Haul + what you should buy!

Since I've started receiving the Sephora Play subscription I've been super into makeup & skincare. Normally I would only buy a few things from Sephora every now and again. But, now that I get a bonus 50 Sephora points a month through the subscription, so I've been purchasing more (#oops). However, I've been able to boost my status to VIB which brings me to....... the VIB sale going on right now! I picked up a few things today I wanted to share before the sale ends tomorrow (11/15)!

First up, is this Stila Liquid Eye Shadow Set. These glimmering shadows are going to be perfect for the holidays and NYE. I can't resist my sparkles! I've been eyeing this product for a while so I might as well score it at 20% off! These are currently sold out online, however I found it in my store! Be sure to check the feature on Sephora's app & website to see what is in-stock at stores around you.

Next up is this Peter Thomas Roth skincare set. I originally wanted the smaller size of the Cloud Cream moisturizer, but my store only had the large size. Then I realized this set was the same price as just the moisturizer! $52 for a moisturizer is really steep for me, but I tried this out in my Sephora Play subscription and I really loved it. It's different then any other moisturizer I've tried before. I'd say it's in between a cream and a gel. It's super unique and I think it makes a difference in my skin! I can't speak for the serum or the cleanser at this point, but they seemed nice when I tried them last night. The Sephora sale is a great time to pick up gift sets like these. Whether they are actual gifts or for yourself!

Last item I picked up was this Living Proof dry shampoo. I love the Dry Bar dry shampoo as well! But, I thought I would try something different this time. The great thing about the small travel size items, or "minis" as Sephora likes to call them, is that you can try out products with low commitment compared to full sizes. If you've been wanting to try items this is a great time to stock up on all of those minis around the cash wrap. Does anyone else get sucked into those as much as I do? I'm guilty of buying the mini sizes 75% of the time. Anything to save some money right?

If you are a Sephora Insider be sure to take advantage of the sale until the end of the day! Here are a few other products I recommend picking up that I have loving recently.....

Two Faced Just Peachy Velvet Matte Palette: My new daily use palette, love the peach, brown, and pink shades for fall. Plus it smells amazing.
Skin Laundry Foaming Face Wash: My new go-to face wash, super gentle on my dry skin.
Two Faced Better then Sex Mascara: Great mascara for length + volume!
It Cosmetics Mascara: Makes my lashes sooooo long! People ask if I have lash extensions when I have it on.
Two Faced Born This Way Foundation: Great build-able coverage foundation. I'm shade Swan for reference.
Tarte Tartelette Tease Mini Palette : My go-to travel palette!

What did you pick up from the Sephora sale? Let me know in the comments! Do you like beauty/ skincare posts? Let me know what you want to see next!

Post Grad Girl: Why I haven't been blogging

Hello! Long time, no chat. As you may have noticed if you frequent Sew Cute Style often I haven't been posting new posts for quite some time. Why? Because life happened. Adjusting to post-grad life is kind of crazy. I went from having breaks in my schedule to photograph outfits, write posts, and create new ideas to working full-time, traveling heavily, and adjusting to life after college. You never realize how much time you have in school until you graduate and work for a living! I always thought oh my gosh I have no time to get anything done, now I feel like I have time to get work done, but not necessarily other things I used to enjoy in my life like my blog.

BUT life is all about making time for what you love. And for me I still love blogging, but I felt like I was posting what people wanted me to post vs. what I am passionate about. So, from now on I'm going to be making posts I enjoy on my schedule. Now, my blog is just something fun I can turn to to be creative. I'm not making a career out of blogging. I'm not trying to make money off of my blog. I simply want to help my friends, family, and readers. Whether that be my Dose of Disney posts sharing my love of Disney, or sharing life post college with my college age audience (gotta shed light on what is to come!).

The same could be said for my Instagram. People were teasing me or complaining about how often I posted Disney photos or outfits. Well, hate to break it to ya but I freaking love Disney. And that isn't going to change because you tease me about posting about Disney. I've found some amazing people and accounts in the Disney community just by looking in and not creating a full page dedicated to Disney.

So, I'm taking a similar approach to my Instagram account as my blog. I'm going to post pictures I enjoy and find visually appealing. Whether that be fashion, lifestyle, travel, my friends & family, or Disney. Oddly enough I watched an episode of Black Mirrors and it had the topic of how people are so obsessed with likes (referencing Instagram heavily). It got me thinking, I should just post what I want. If the pictures gets less then a 100 likes, oh well! I enjoy it so I wanna post it.

Woah woah woah, I'm not trying to vent here. But, I wanted to share a new direction I'm taking my blog and social media platforms, and I encourage you to do the same! Post what you want to post. Don't care about the likes, care about that that picture or tweet makes you happy. That's what matters, not what other people think!

At the end of the day I want to look back on my blog and Instagram and enjoy all of my posts. And that is exactly what I have been doing recently. So, get excited for more posts in the future from Sew Cute Style! I know I've said that before, but I'm going to work on creating new content that I believe in and that I'm passionate about, that is what matters at the end of the day.

Have any suggestions for blogposts? Let me know in the comments below!
