Dose of Disney: Best shoes to wear to Disney

For me, shoes are a very important part of a Disney outfit. If your shoes aren't comfortable, you are in for a long long day at the parks. So, here are my go-to shoes to wear at the parks.....

Keds | Keds are the perfect sneaker for the parks. They are cute enough to match your Disney outfit, but are still comfortable to walk around all day. I've been wearing Keds to the parks for sometime and my feet have never hurt from them!

Vans | This trip I got a new pair of Disney Vans and I have to say I really like them! They are super comfortable and had a cute Toy Story print.

Nike | Nike sneakers are always nice to have if your feet are hurting midway through your trip. I pair mine with outfits I'm wearing leggings or something more casual. Any athletic sneakers are nice to have just in case your feet are dying or you get a blister on your trip.

Jack Rogers | Normally I only wear Jack Rogers for shopping at Disney Spring or for a nice dinner. I wouldn't recommend wearing sandals to the parks, unless you aren't planning on doing a lot of walking. Personally, I think sneakers are more comfortable, but it's all a personal preference! But, I do suggest bringing one or two pairs of cute sandals for Disney Spring shopping and any fancy dinners you may have planned.

What are your go-to shoes to wear at Disney? Let me know in the comments!

Spring Sandals with Dizzy

Warmer weather calls for a new pair of sandals! Thanks to Dizzy I have the perfect pair of spring sandals that are super cute and unique. These Dizzy flip flops are like your favorite old school jelly sandals from your 90s childhood. Was I the only one obsessed with those? I had a pair of pink jelly sandals and I loved them! Dizzy makes similar shoes, but with an adult twist. Like this pair of butterfly bow flip flops. The bow detail is the perfect girly touch and the butterfly print makes them perfect for spring and early summer.

The oversize bow on these make them uber girly, which I love. But, they have more subdued styles as well, if bows aren't your thing. For plastic shoes they are pretty comfortable, but I wouldn't suggest wearing them for long walks. I normally don't wear flip flops for distance walking like on vacation. However, I love sandals like this for days at the pool, for lunch with friends, or grabbing ice cream during the warmer months!

Dizzy has some other super cute designs this season! Check out these rose pair and this super cute pom pom pair. The best part of these sandals are that they are super affordable. You can get most of their sandals for under $30, most styles are $20! You can also find Dizzy sandals at Nordstrom Rack, which is my favorite place to pick up shoes.

Pair these printed sandals with a more simple look to keep the outfit balanced. I paired them with a simple one shoulder top from Lilly Pulitzer (it is so comfy!) and my go-to J Crew Factory skirt. This skirt is perfect for any occasion. It works great for work or pair it with a tee for a more casual look. I accessorized this look with my favorite dainty necklace of the moment, a Baublebar small monogram necklace. Then of course I wore my trusty pair of Ray Bans to finish everything off.

OOTD: Blue Blossoms

HELLO SPRING! Thank goodness spring has officially arrived. It just isn't right to be wearing junky sweatshirts in April. I'm busting out all of my favorite spring dresses for this newfound gorgeous weather. This adorable gingham eyelet dress is a recent find at a vineyard vines "whalehouse" sale. My mom went to shop the sale while I was at school and she picked me up some great pieces!

I love this dress because it is a super light shirt dress but still has a ton of detailing with the embroidery. Not to mention this dress is super flattering. It's fitted without being to tight and the tie at the waist creates the perfect hourglass shape. This dress is perfect to transition from work to a dinner out. For work I paired it with a pair of lace up ballet flats and after work I switched into my trusty Jack Roger sandals.

Also can we talk about these earrings??! These are perfect dupes for the Baublebar earrings every blogger is wearing. Best part? They are from the Baublebar Sugarfix collection at Target. What is even better then that is that they are only $12! With Baublebar's original pair at $30+ these are such a steal. They come in a ton of different colors, but I loved the white because it matches anything.

Aren't these blue flowers to die for? This is my favorite spot on Iowa State's campus during the spring. I love when all of the little blue flowers pop up all across campus. They just bring a little pop of color wherever you walk. This spot is right near the president's house and has a ton of big trees. It's the perfect little peaceful spot to take a walk.

No spring look is complete without a KJP bracelet. I love this white rope one. They have a ton of new arrivals right now that I am lusting over.

OOTD: Gingham Girl

Can you tell I have a slight gingham obsession? Gingham is my go to print for spring and summer. I love the checkered look to it. Plus gingham and pastels go hand in hand. But, this dress mixes things up by taking a black and white spin on gingham. Normally I'm not a big black person, but I make exceptions for a dress this cute!

To add a pop of color I paired the look with these bold red statement earrings from Kendra Scott. During spring I love wearing bold statement earrings. I have quite the huge collection. Something about cute spring dresses and statement earrings just goes hand in hand for me. As you probably know, I am a big accessories girl. So statement earrings are right up my alley. But, if you don't feel bold enough to wear big earrings try out a statement necklace first then work your way up to a statement earring.

Ruffles are also a recent obsession of mine. There are so many cute layered and ruffle tops this season it's giving me major girly vibes. I'm not complaining! I love spring fashion because it caters to my sense of style. Everything is girly, pastel, and floral which is perfect in my book. I'm so sick of the dreary weather and dark outfits. Now that it is warmer outside I'm breaking out my Lilly and bright colors from the back of my closet.

Fun fact: This is Carrie Champan Catt Hall at Iowa State. Catt was actually a Pi Phi believe it or not, and she was a major player in the women's suffrage movement. I'm in a History of American Women class right now so excuse my dorky fun facts. But, it's been super cool to learn more about women of America's past. Including this killer Pi Phi who won us the right to vote!

Dose of Disney: D Living Store Roundup

At Disney Springs there is a whole store dedicated to all things home for Disney. Aka this place is heaven. It was even more heaven because the D Living store was decked out in all things Beauty and the Beast. So, naturally I had to create a whole post showing off the amazing things they had in store. First, I was loving this adorable teapot and teacup hanging display. As a fashion major and experience in visual merchandising, this whole store was display heaven (can you tell I think this place is heaven?). It was pure magic!

The store was stocked with Disney, specifically BATB, home decor. From ornaments to tableware this place was house goals!

Some of my favorite pieces are these plates, cups, and other tableware. I love the black and white theme and the sketched design. Also, who doesn't want Lumiere on their dishes???

Can we say BEDROOM GOALS?! I'm obsessed with this little set up. From the Beast plush toy to the little Belle picture frame on the nightstand this is what I aspire my bedroom to look like.

The D Living store also had some exclusive BATB apparel! I picked up a super cute and soft baseball tee. It says Tale as old as time with a little rose. It is so cute! They also had a cute Lumiere tee, Belle zip up sweatshirt, and a few other clothing items. Not to mention they had the Beauty and the Beast Dooney Bourke bags. The store just received a shipment that day but they were super cute! If your looking for one of the bags I suggest calling before you head there. It seemed they kept selling out of them!

They also had so many art prints that are perfect for a Disney theme gallery wall!

Have you taken a trip to the D Living store? Let me know in the comments!

Dose of Disney: Flower Garden Festival Topiaries

Disney World's Flower and Garden festival is known for all of its character topiaries. I loved walking around the countries and the park to see some of my favorite Disney characters created with flowers. All of the bright colors made Epcot even more beautiful then usual. In today's post I'm going to share with you some of my favorite topiaries and flowers seen at the Flower and Garden Festival 2017!

If you follow me on Instagram you've already seen this Beauty and the Beast topiary because I am obsessed! It's so so beautiful!

Location: Mexico

The Three Caballeros is such an underrated ride, and movie, so I loved this topiary in Mexico! This is one of my favorite rides at Epcot so it was so cute to see these three birds turned into flowers.

Location: Germany

The Seven Dwarfs, especially Dopey are some of my favorite characters! These guys are located near Germany. Snow White is also included in the display.

Who doesn't love the Lion King?! These topiaries are located on the African theme bridge next to China. My family is still confused as to what that area is supposed to be, but hey they have a Simba topiary so we'll go along with it.

Location: France

Topiary perfection right here! My two favorite Disney sidekicks are displayed right out front of France. Belle and Beast are also located here. This makes for the perfect photo spot because you get a spiral style garden and the buildings of France in the background.

Location: Canada

Bambi and Thumper couldn't get any cuter! These guys are hanging out right as you walk into Canada.

Location: America

Woody is hiding out in America, we almost missed him because he is a bit hidden. He is right near the BBQ Flower and Garden food stand so be sure to go see him!

Location: U.K.

The characters of Winnie the Pooh are right near Rose and Crown Pub in the U.K.

Location: U.K.

The characters of Fanstasmic are outside of the countries. There are quite a few topiaries not in the world showcase so be sure to walk around the first part of the park to make sure you don't miss Buzz, Lighting McQueen and more!

Location: U.K.

Don't forget to visit Tink in the U.K. as well! Peter Pan is hiding out on top of the gift shop near the bathrooms, so be sure to look up.

What is your favorite topiary? Mine are for sure the Beauty and the Beast ones! Let me know in the comments.
