Monthly Favorites

Food
Microwave popcorn, sweet tart heart suckers, breakfast pizza, and ruffles chips.
So basically I am obsessed with breakfast pizza. At my school we have a small convenient store in my dorm and they sell breakfast pizza and it is literally amazing. I basically get it at least twice a week. The bacon pizza is my favorite! But sausage is a close second.

With Valentine's day comes candy! This is my FAVORITE Valentines day candy of all time. I am super into Sweetarts or candy like that (if it's Wonka I most likely love it) so I have been eating these a lot!

Planner freak
This month I have been UBER busy. So my planner is my boyfriend (not literally but basically). I have been color coding, using flags, and I have recently been using a note list that I picked up from Target. Without my planner I would probably be dead and very unprepared. This month has been full of tests, events, and a bunch or other things that I have to remember to do!

Target dollar section
I don't know about you but Target is my life. I have literally spent hours in Target just looking around at all of the cute stuff. The dollar section, specifically, has been on point this month. They have a new section in the dollar section that features a lot of cute stationary type things. I have been clearing out these areas at my local Target (not kidding). They have a variety of notebooks, to-do lists, pens, and other fun accessories! Be sure to check them out because they look straight off a Pinterest board.

Fashion

I have been layering necklace a lot this month. I think they add an extra sparkle and more texture to a look.

I think I will always be obsessed with this pearl necklace. It's from J Crew and I feel really cool wearing it because all of my favorite bloggers have it too.... So there is that!

Also, J Crew has been a HUGE favorite this month specifically. I feel like I am always wearing something J Crew no matter what!

Those are my February favorites! Hope you enjoyed :)

OOTD: Fur and Boy Shirts

A girl can wear a guy shirt to.....

Today was the day of wearing new things! My outfit includes two recent purchases my pants and my maroon long sleeve. Oddly enough my long sleeve is from the men's section at American Eagle. My brother always wears these shirts so I decided I would get one to wear just to be comfy. To my surprise they are actually super cute! So I paired the shirt with a fun pair of pants that are also amazingly comfortable. They are kind of like harem pants which I kind of love. Not only are they soft but they have an elastic waste band which adds to the comfort level.

I layered my fur vest on top to give it an edgy or boho look. For shoes I wore my favorite pair of swede booties. For jewelry I wore my typical watch and bangles along with an extra bangle on my right hand. My necklace is chains that resemble fringe. This adds a touch of edginess to the look.

Overall, this outfit is the ultimate lazy look. The whole day I was super comfy but also stylish at the same time.

Inspirational things: Reasons to Stay Alive

I saw this list somewhere and I thought it was really neat. A lot of the times people get caught up in their daily lives and they forget about just the simple great things. So, if you are ever having a bad day look back at this list and remember that the little drama doesn't matter. It's the small things that mean the most in life.

My favorite numbers:
3. Stepping on crunchy leaves
10. First kisses
30. Compliments from strangers
38. Laughing
42. Meeting someone famous
49. Getting a new haircut
58. Learning to love yourself
75. Kissing
77. Inside jokes
84. Being so happy your crying
89. Dancing

Get the Look: Loving Lavender

I saw this picture on Tumblr and I became obsessed! I instantly wanted to re-create it. To re-create this look there are a few ways you can do it.
  1. First you need an embellished sweatshirt or sweater. My favorite ones are from J Crew however you can get them from a lot of different places. I think an embellished sweater is a great way to add some sparkle and bling to your look.
  2. Next you need a checkered shirt or gingham button down shirt. I think layering this with the sweater is a great combination. It's super cute and not to mention preppy!
  3. You can also layer some necklaces to add an extra layer of sparkle and texture.
  4. For bottoms you can wear whatever you please. However, I think it looks best with a great pair of jeans.
  5. When it comes to shoes you can wear a fun pair of pointy toe pumps.

OOTD: Vintage Dots

Today's outfit features one of my recent purchases a pink polka dot blouse. It's super cute and was on clearance for only $9! I paired the top with my favorite pair of Topshop shorts. To keep my legs warm I put on a pair of black tights.

Accessories for the look included a big chunky statement necklace that accents the black and pink in the shirt. Also, I wore my favorite Hunter rain boots so I can dodge the giant puddles on campus.

Overall, the look is super vintage and cute. I love how polka dots mix with the pattern in the shorts. It creates a nice look as a whole.

The Braided Bun Tutorial

I have been doing this braided bun hairstyle for quite a while now. It is super easy to do and also keeps your hair out of your face.

There are a few things you will need to get this look.....
Bobby pins, hair ties, hair spray, and a pony tail (one normal sized one small).

Steps:
  1. First take all of your hair and gather it into a high pony tail. My personal preference is to really brush it out and make it super smooth and neat. However, if you would rather it be more relaxed and messy you don't have to slick it as much.
  2. Once you pony tail is in you need to do the braid. Depending on how much hair you have you can either do one braid or two. I don't have that much hair so I normally do one braid. But, try it both ways and see what works best for you.
  3. After making a braid all the way down your pony tail secure it with a tiny elastic. This will keep the braid from unraveling in your bun.
  4. Next wrap your braid(s) around the pony tail holder to create a bun. If you have braids be sure to make sure the lay flat around the center of your pony tail.
  5. After you wrap your braids secure them with lots of bobby pins.
  6. The final touch is to spray your hair with hair spray. Also, if you have layers be sure to spray them down because the most likely popped out from being in the braid.

This is how the finished hair look turns out.

I hope you enjoyed this quick and easy hair tutorial!

Spring Break Essentials

Spring break is right around the corner which means you need to start your spring break essential list!

My Essentials

  1. Vineyard Vines hat is one of my favorite warm weather essentials. It covers up your "bad hair day" or even a "I haven't showered" hair look. Not to mention they are just super cute! Baseball caps in general are a great vacation essential. My favorite brands include: Ralph Lauren, Vineyard Vines, Southern Tide, or a monogram hat!
  2. Monogram beach hats are super cute and practical! They keep the sun out of your face while you look fabulous. Get a plain one or order off a monogrammed one off Etsy!
  3. Monogram beach bags I think are super adorable. Anyone going on a beach getaway needs a beach bag. So, find a cute striped one with a little personalization so you can easily locate your bag.
  4. Sunglass straps come super in handy! They make wearing sunglasses not a hassle. You can simply wear your glasses around your neck when you aren't outside then just switch them for when you are out int the sun. Not to mention you can find super fun prints and colored sunglass straps! And another basic spring break essential is sunglasses of course! I love pairing my croakie with a basic pair of aviators.
  5. I recently tried Fresh lip balm and it is perfect! It's super moisturizing and some have a slight tint in color. One of these would be great to have on the beach when your lips feel dry.
  6. Body spray is an essential in life and on spring break. A quick spritz and you will smell great whether you are off to dinner, out, or going to the beach.
  7. Aerie swimsuits are my absolute favorite. Almost all of my swim suits are from Aerie because they are not only cute but they are made super well. And personally I don't mind a push up swim suit top and Aerie has some great ones!
  8. American Eagle festival shorts are my go-to summer shorts. So, of course you need them for spring break. They are high waisted so you can pair them with bandeau or crop tops. But, they aren't to high that they are awkward to wear with a t-shirt.
Those are my spring break essentials! Hope you have a safe vacation or trip wherever you are going this spring break.

London Fashion Week

London Fashion week is underway so here are some of my favorite highlights so far!

My boy Harry Styles working it at the Burberry show in London. He's looking dapper as always.

I'm loving this 80's inspired collection! There is glitter, tulle, and sequins galore. I wish it was socially acceptable to dress like this everyday.

Burberry's newest fall collection. I am loving these oversize bags! The purple one farthest to the right is my absolute favorite.

"Dare to be Blair"

Who doesn't want to be Blair Waldorf? Well here are some basic pieces that you can buy to have a Blair inspired look! Or find pieces that match these in your closet already.

  1. A shirt that ties into a bow in the front.
  2. High heels or pumps.
  3. Anything with glitter, glam, or sparkle (but always expensive looking).
  4. Flattering dresses that are bold and out there!
  5. Colored tights or knee socks.
  6. Lots and lots of accessories including bangles, necklaces, or hair accessories (headbands duh!).
  7. Bows are key! Whether it be on a dress, skirt, or top.
  8. A killer bag.

Burberry Spring 2014

Burberry takes spring with pastels and details.
Recently, I have been obsessing over various fashion weeks and designer collections. Burberry's spring collection is for sure no exception. This collection is full of unique textures and patterns mixed with one of my favorite classic spring trends, pastels.

The look on the left worn by Cara is one of my favorite looks from the collection. I love how the jacket is see through. It's something that is usually not done but I am kind of obsessed with the idea of a cute and chic rain coat. Also, the look on the right is perfect in my eyes. It has my two favorite colors purple and green incorporated into the look.

{Cara= perfection!}

{Loving all the detail work on the skirts of the collection. I like how they make a pattern from sequins and gems against the lace or sheer skirt.}
