Deep in blue

Recently I have been wearing this aqua color a lot. I'm not sure why but I seem to be gravitating towards it! This OOTD features a aqua sheer maxi skirt paired with a simple striped crop top. I love this look because it is more simple then what I normally wear. It was a great outfit for grabbing some breakfast with a friend. For accessories I kept it pretty simple and just wore a pair of statement earrings from Baublebar. I have gotten a lot of use out of these earrings! They are great because they are black, grey, and white so they go with a lot of looks. Not to mention they are pretty neutral so I wear them a lot. For my other accessories I kept it with my everyday bangles and watch. My bag is a recent purchase that I did a post on! My shoes are simple sandals that have both gold and silver. These are my go-to sandal and they are super comfortable. They are from Target and might I say Target makes a great sandal! I always get mine on super clearance for around $7-$9.

A not so preppy look

For this look I decided to mix it up from my usual preppy get up to something with a little more edge. I paired a distressed denim shirt with a black burnout skirt. The skirt has a fun ruffle on the bottom which keeps the look still girly enough. For accessories I wore a fun statement necklace (as usual), a jelly chain bracelet, and a pair of fun strappy sandals. I kept my lipstick a dark red color to go along with the overall darker look. Might I add I was having a great hair day! Using a curling wand I made light wavy curls in my hair.

On this lovely warm day of spring I had an interview for my universities fashion magazine Trend. I am happy to announce that I am the new Accessories Director for the fall 2014 issue! This is a huge opportunity and I cannot wait to think of a concept and start planning my fall shoot. 

So, now for the outfit. I wore a super fun tulle skirt with a simple black tank. I recently picked up this skirt form a local boutique when I was in the Davenport area for Easter. The skirt is super comfy and not to mention super fun! Who doesn't love a midi tulle skirt? Very Sarah Jessica Parker inspired. For accessories I wore another recent purchase of mine, new bauble bar dangle earrings. These earrings were only $10 from their huge sale they recently had. I am basically obsessed with them! They are a great neutral earring that I think I will be able to wear a lot. I also accessorized with a fun BCBG bracelet and a gold skinny belt along with my typical everyday jewelry picks.

The weather is starting to warm up! Which means no tights, lighter jackets, and less layers. So, last week I took advantage of the warm weather with an outfit appropriate for the spring sun. I paired a simple denim button down with a flowy floral skirt. I accented the colors in the skirt with my fun statement necklace. For shoes I wore my favorite pair of camel brown booties from Target. I wore a fun pair of gold sparkle socks to accent the gold in the skirt. Overall, I cannot wait for more warm days and more outfits with less bulk!

Thanksgiving is a great holiday, except when you get your wisdom teeth out the week of and you can't eat! In regardless to my empty stomach Thanksgiving break was a very relaxing and lazy week. 

For my outfit I paired one of my favorite striped dresses from Forever 21 with a pair of maroon tights and black flats. The outfit is quite simple but the oversize gold necklace adds a little more interest to the outfit. But, this dress is great for Thanksgiving because it flows away from the body (a.k.a hides the food babies!).

This statement necklace is super bold. For only $5 on sale at H&M I picked this up a while ago. However, it goes with practically everything!

Arm candy is a given detail to any great outfit. For this look I doubled up having both wrists with something. 

These maroon tights are surprisingly very versatile. They go great with this dress and bring more maroon to the outfit. I got these tights from Target so long ago and haven't worn them much till now. I knew they would come in handy eventually!

{Excuse my puffy cheeks I got my wisdom teeth out on Monday so I was still swollen!}

I styled my hair in curls, of course, and pulled back one side. My hair was super long and the day after I got a much needed hair cut.

The Outfit: Today's outfit I kept super simple. It is still in the 90s in Ames which I am totally not used to. So, I just wore this super fun bleached denim dress with great accessories. The look is very simple but still cute and a little bit edgy. My favorite part about this dress is the amazing pockets because lets be honest, every girl loves a dress with pockets. I paired the dress with a statement necklace with black and silver details. Also, it has a super cute bow in the center.
