Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Picks!!!!

It's that time of year......
My Nordstrom Anniversary Sale must haves!
So, it is that time of year again! Aka the best time of the year. I love the Nordstrom sale because you can get a lot of things that normally don't go on sale for a discounted price! Such things include designer shoes, handbags, and tons of fun jewelry. I have been shopping this sale since as long as I can remember. Since my family is avid Nordstrom shoppers we get early accesses to the sale. So, here are some of my favorites from the sale that you can see early!

Kendra Scott earrings ON SALE!
Ummm this is huge. I have been wanting these earrings for a while now but they are a little expensive in my opinion and usually don't go on sale. But the sale has them for only $33.90 compared to a normal $50. So, these are a pretty good deal! They have lots of gorgeous fall colors but these two are my favorites for sure.

Monogram madness!
Who doesn't love a good monogram? Well Nordstrom has a ton for this sale which is a new thing for them! Very exciting news. Here are three of my favorite monogram items. I love this simple little Kate Spade necklace. Its super dainty and you could layer it with other pieces super easily.
I have a new found love of tortoise shell so I am obsessed with this bangle.
Then a classic monogram necklace on sale? Sign me up! This monogram necklace is around $80 which is a pretty good price compared to most nice monogram necklaces.

L to R: Tory Burch ($150), BP ($80), Sam Edelman ($130)

New kicks.
Shoes are a major thing I purchase at the sale. Here are my top three that I am going to be looking at. Tory Burch flats on sale are a rare species. They have both an all silver and an all gold pair on sale for $150! I am thinking about the gold ones! Then I am in need of black boots and a pair of booties for "going out". So, here are my two favorites. Both of these boots come in a bunch of different colors.
Boat shoe bonanza!
I love my Sperrys! They have a few super cute styles for the sale and I think they are all Nordstrom exclusives. These were my favorite pair. I like the tradition style of the shoe but it has the gold cord as a fun accent.

Time crunch.
Watches are also a great thing to buy at this sale. They have Kate Spade and Michael Kors watches on sale which are hard to find. Here are my top two. I have been wanting a tortoise shell watch so this might be the one I end up getting!

L: House of Harlow
R: Kate Spade

Baublebar

Its an ear thing.
Who doesn't love a fun earring? Well here are three earrings that I am in love with. Two are more simple studs then the other is a great statement earrings. All of these earrings come in multiple colors plus are all under $30!

Neck candy.
Here are also two necklaces I am loving. One is a bold statement piece and the other is more understated.

Fun phone case.
I love myself a new phone case. For $25 I might have to pick up this Kate Spade one. They have two other styles on sale as well!

Sparklers, Fun, and Flags: Fourth of July outfit ideas

The Fourth of July is right around the corner! The month of June literally flew by. But now it is time to figure out what you are gonna wear for the big festivities. Determining your red, white, and blue ensemble kind of depends on what you will be doing on the fourth. Will you be at a classy affair, sitting on the grass watching fireworks, or in and out of the pool all day?

Well, I created three looks that are perfect for any activities you could be doing on the Fourth of July! There is a dressy, casual, and super casual look you can be inspired by.

Dressy: Lets say you are going to a more fancy place for the fourth. Maybe you are going to a nice restaurant, out on a nice boat, I can't think of anything else but maybe you just want to dress up! Well, here is the outfit for you! (I am actually kind of obsessed with this outfit.) I paired a fun pair of navy pom pom shorts with a simple white scallop tank. To add a pop of red to the look I added a bold Baublebar necklace. I love the layered look that this necklace gives. For accessories I chose a bright red leather bag with a neutral espadrille. Altogether it creates a very chic, preppy, and girly Fourth of July look.

Semi-Casual: I know for my Fourth of July I will probably be wondering around my friends town, watching fireworks, and other things of that nature. So, I want something comfy but also super cute. This would be my ideal look for the Fourth of July. I paired a fun pair of scalloped shorts with a simple white tee. Incorporating white into your outfit, I think, is super important! Mainly because you will be out in the hot sun and a white shirt will keep you cooler then a blue or red shirt. For shoes I paired them with these super fun Jack Rogers because they are my obsession. Then lastly I added a KJP red, white, and blue bracelet for an extra patriotic touch. Plus I am also obsessed with KJP.

Casual: There are a lot of people who are probably going to be on the beach, at the pool, or on a lake for the Fourth of July. So, this outfit is perfect to just throw on over a bathing suit! I am loving these super cute American flag running shorts! These are a huge trend it feels like and I love them. I paired the shorts with just a plain white tank (you could do red or blue too!) then a pair of white Keds and then a simple blue hair bow. If you are going for a preppy casual look this is your ideal 4th of July outfit.

Follow Me Around: Birthday, OOTD, and Dinner!

Hello everyone! If you didn't know my golden birthday was June 19th (this past thursday). So, I thought I would share what I did on my birthday and share the outfits that I wore!

My friend Cassidy came into town to celebrate my birthday so we picked her up at a mall close to my house. We ate at Maggianos, an Italian restaurant near the mall, for lunch and it was super tasty! Then we did a little bit of shopping at the mall because what else would I do on my birthday but shop? So we hit up J Crew, Sephora, and browsed around Anthropologie.

Here is my OOTD from shopping! I wore a super fun anchor sweater because I knew we would be in and out of cold air conditioning. I paired the fun printed sweater with a more simple short. It is a creme beige color short that has a scallop detail on the hem. I have been huge into scallops recently (like this fun red dress). Scallops add a super fun and feminine detail to basically everything! (Speaking of scallops Anthropologie had the most perfect scalloped top! Ugh why does everything have to be a million dollars in there??!) For jewelry I wore my favorite pearl necklace from J Crew, Alex and Ani & J Crew bangles, Kate Spade bow earrings, and my Michael Kors watch. Then for shoes I just wore my neutral Sperry Top-Siders.

Cool pictures I took in Anthropologie. This store literally is perfection. I want to actually live inside one. I mean they had a bed, dinning room table, dishes, and free cupcakes and drinks so I think I could survive.

Then, later in the day we headed off to dinner. My friend Cathleen came to meet Cassidy real quick before we left which was super nice!

Love the open back on this dress!

The OOTD for dinner at the Melting Pot included this peach Tobi dress. It is a great summer dress and has a lot of fun details. The coolest part of this dress has to be the open back. Usually I am not a fan of open backs but this dress is just too cute not to love it. Also, I love the fringe detail on the sleeves. It gives the dress a little more of a boho feel. For jewelry I kept things simple and only wore my usual bangles and watch plus a fun pair of earrings. These ones are from Baublebar and have white, creme, and black stones. Then my shoes are just a simple black sandal.

We ate dinner at one of my favorite places the Melting Pot which is a fondue restaurant. If you ever get the chance to eat at one it is AMAZING! My personal suggestions are the swiss cheese for your cheese fondue, a caesar salad, anything steak for you entree, then finally milk chocolate fondue for dessert. Yum!

They put my name on the sign out front! I felt pretty cool.

OOTD: Aqua Maxi

Deep in blue
Recently I have been wearing this aqua color a lot. I'm not sure why but I seem to be gravitating towards it! This OOTD features a aqua sheer maxi skirt paired with a simple striped crop top. I love this look because it is more simple then what I normally wear. It was a great outfit for grabbing some breakfast with a friend. For accessories I kept it pretty simple and just wore a pair of statement earrings from Baublebar. I have gotten a lot of use out of these earrings! They are great because they are black, grey, and white so they go with a lot of looks. Not to mention they are pretty neutral so I wear them a lot. For my other accessories I kept it with my everyday bangles and watch. My bag is a recent purchase that I did a post on! My shoes are simple sandals that have both gold and silver. These are my go-to sandal and they are super comfortable. They are from Target and might I say Target makes a great sandal! I always get mine on super clearance for around $7-$9.

Preppy Diaries: Neon and Navy

This outfit is one of my favorite looks I have worn in a while! It features three of my favorite new pieces. One being this bright neon button down shirt from J Crew. Its such a fun piece and I will be wearing it a lot this spring and summer. Another new piece I have been loving is my J Crew seersucker loafers. They feature a fun anchor to give an extra nautical touch. Also, my new Baublebar necklace is a great new piece. I can picture it going with a lot of fun summer dresses. All together this look is super fun, bright, and preppy.

OOTD: New Baubles

On this lovely warm day of spring I had an interview for my universities fashion magazine Trend. I am happy to announce that I am the new Accessories Director for the fall 2014 issue! This is a huge opportunity and I cannot wait to think of a concept and start planning my fall shoot.

So, now for the outfit. I wore a super fun tulle skirt with a simple black tank. I recently picked up this skirt form a local boutique when I was in the Davenport area for Easter. The skirt is super comfy and not to mention super fun! Who doesn't love a midi tulle skirt? Very Sarah Jessica Parker inspired. For accessories I wore another recent purchase of mine, new bauble bar dangle earrings. These earrings were only $10 from their huge sale they recently had. I am basically obsessed with them! They are a great neutral earring that I think I will be able to wear a lot. I also accessorized with a fun BCBG bracelet and a gold skinny belt along with my typical everyday jewelry picks.
