OOTD: Mixing Prints

All mixed up!
For this work look I decided to mix it up a bit. And by that I mean mixing prints. Sometimes I am afraid to mix prints because some people are probably like what is that girl wearing?! But, I decided that this look gets the job done in a very subtle way. I paired a navy and white polka dot dress with this super fun white and navy striped scarf. By sticking in the same color family it makes the look less intimidating in my opinion. I paired the look with a nude sandal and simple gold accessories to complete the look.

What is your favorite way to mix prints? Let me know in the comments!

OOTD: Polka dot fun

Am I wearing tulip shorts?
I am loving this super girly look! Recently I have found myself wearing a lot of blue which is kind of random for me. But, I wore this super cute polka dot tee with these vintage shorts. These shorts are high waisted and have a cool flap detail. They remind me of a tulip for some reason and I am kind of obsessed! For accessories I wore a fun pearl statement necklace and my other usual bangles and watch. Then for shoes I wore a neutral pair of Sperry Top-Siders.

Blog Haul: Memorial Day Sales

Sales, Sales, Sales!
So, I did some MAJOR shopping during the memorial day sales! I went to J Crew, J Crew factory, Nordstrom, Urban Outfitters, Madewell, American Eagle, and a few other places! I literally went crazy. It was bad. But amazing. I have no regrets. So here is a blog haul for you to show you most of the things I got! Some of the things I'm not sure if I'm keeping or I'm getting them for my birthday (which is June 19th!), and some are not summer appropriate so I will show you the other things later.

Dresses: These two dresses are going to be great little summer dresses. I am obsessed with this pineapple dress from the J Crew factory outlet. It has a sweetheart neckline then some thin adjustable straps. Kind of similar is this navy and polka dot dress from Urban Outfitters. This dress was only about $15-$20 so I couldn't pass it up.
Skirt and tee: I picked up an ADORABLE pineapple tee (you see the addiction is real). I can't wait to pair this with a simple pair of shorts for an easy summer look. Then this lime green linen skirt I picked up from J Crew and it ended up being pretty cheap. J Crew had 40% off their sale section so I got a lot of good deals there.

Shirts: Next I got a tunic, plaid shirt, then an anchor sweater. The navy tunic is from J Crew then the other two shirts are from the J Crew factory store.

Crop top and shorts: Both of these things were from American Eagle. With their sale section 60% off both of these pieces were under $10 each! So these were a great find.
Chino shorts: I have been in desperate need of some chino shorts. So I got three pairs form the J Crew store. The two neon pairs were about $20 then the white ones were full price but I need them for recruitment! The neon green and white ones are 3 inch and the hot pink ones are 5 inch I believe.

Shorts: These two shorts are from Urban Outfitters. They were both under $15 which is such a steal. I love the scallop detail on the black lace shorts. It gives them an extra girly touch.

Dresses: These two dresses are also recent purchases but not really from Memorial Day sales. The dress on the left is from TJMaxx but is a Kate Spade Saturday dress. You can probably picture me in the store silently freaking out so I went to try it on and it fit perfectly. Also, I got a Lilly Pulitzer dress on sale during a Rue La La Lilly sale. It was a pretty good deal as far as Lilly Pulitzer goes and since I can't go to the warehouse sale that will have to do!

Scarves: Both of these scarves ended up being around $7! I love the white and neon one and will be great to pair with my neon chino shorts. The red, white, and blue American inspired scarf will be great for 4th of July or when I'm feeling patriotic.

How I've styled my new pieces:

These two tops are new as well! The striped tank was only $10 at J Crew outlet. Then the denim tunic is form Madewell and was around $19! Also my statement necklace is new. I got it at the J Crew outlet for only $15.

New shoes and bag. New navy Sperry Top-Siders are from Nordstrom and were around $50 I believe. Then you have seen my new purse that I picked up from the Kate Spade outlet! Got a great deal on it and I'm obsessed.

OOTD: Edgier then usual....

A not so preppy look
For this look I decided to mix it up from my usual preppy get up to something with a little more edge. I paired a distressed denim shirt with a black burnout skirt. The skirt has a fun ruffle on the bottom which keeps the look still girly enough. For accessories I wore a fun statement necklace (as usual), a jelly chain bracelet, and a pair of fun strappy sandals. I kept my lipstick a dark red color to go along with the overall darker look. Might I add I was having a great hair day! Using a curling wand I made light wavy curls in my hair.

Black bracelet: Marc by Marc Jacobs
Watch and bangles: Alex and Ani & Michael Kors

These shoes were such a steal! Got them on clearance at Target for around $7! Target is the place to get super cheap and cute sandals.

OOTD: Keeping it Classy

OOTD: Keeping it Classy
This is my idea of business professional... Not your typical pant suit but that is just not the way I do things.

I paired my "Gatsby" dress with a simple black blazer. The dress has a 1920s vibe which of course I am obsessed with it. {Let's be honest who doesn't want to be a flapper?} Adding the blazer I made the dress more professional more structured.

No outfit is complete without a statement necklace of course. This necklace is bold with black stones along with other accent colors.

Other accessories included my favorite bangles and pearl studs. On my feet I wore simple black flats with beading details.

Who said business professional had to be boring? You can achieve this look by pairing a fun dress with a blazer. It instantly makes you look more professional and put together. Just be sure to have a long enough dress on. {No body wants to say your booty!}

OOTD: Classic Edgy

September 19th, 2013:

The Outfit: Today I kept things relatively edgy. I paired this burn out high low skirt with a staple denim vest. Accessories included a gold chain necklace, arm candy, and tope ankle booties. Overall, I wanted the look to be chic but still have a hardness. Ankle booties are a great way to add a little chicness into a more rough look.
