OOTD: Vintage Nautical

Pin Up Inspired
For this look I took a vintage spin on the nautical trend. By adding the headband it kind of gave it a vintage pin-up girl vibe. Which I kind of love! To create this look I paired my favorite anchor shorts with a simple denim shirt. I have worn this denim shirt a bunch this summer and I am in love! You can pair it with practically anything which makes it super versatile. Also, I added a splash of red with both my lipstick and my earrings. I love these earrings because they have a small anchor detail which ties in the whole look. For shoes I kept things simple with my angelfish Sperry Top-Siders. They add an extra touch of nautical to the look.

These earrings are super adorable! I have a severe anchor addiction I have to admit.

I love wearing a bold red lip! Its great to add a pop of color to a neutral look.

OOTD: Bold Tribal

Professional Print
Another day of work passes by which means another semi-professional outfit. This summer I have mastered the idea of business casual I would say! Thanks to my "big girl" internship I have to get creative for some office appropriate attire. But, I do have to say this summer I have been purchasing more classic and adult pieces. I am kind of over the whole Forever 21 phase. Sure it's good to get a cheap trendy piece or a pair of sunglasses but I am trying to build a lasting wardrobe with things I can wear for a long time.

So, this OOTD features some of these new pieces I have been getting. First I wore a printed button down that is white and royal blue. The print is kind of tribal so it makes the button down a little more brights. I simply paired the bold blouse with a tan skirt with gold and zipper detailing. Sperry Top-Siders are my go-to shoe for work. They are comfortable enough to walk in and they aren't to casual. I accessorized the look with a bold white bubble necklace, my favorite watch, and of course my Alex and Ani bangles. (If you haven't noticed I wear them everyday!)

OOTD: Blog colors?

Familiar Colors?
This OOTD features some familiar colors aka my blog theme! Light purple and Tiffany blue are my two favorite colors. For this OOTD I wore a lavender pair of chino shorts, a simple white tank, and a small cardigan. To complete the look I wore gold accessories including a skinny belt, bow earrings, and some bangles. I also wore a neutral pair of Sperrys to keep this outfit simple and comfortable.

The Fault In Our Stars: the movie, what to wear, whats the big deal?

Whats the big deal?
It seems like EVERYONE is talking about TFIOS aka The Fault in Our Stars. If you haven't heared of this book or movie you have basically been living under a rock! In a earlier post in May I discussed how I was reading the book.
{I can sum up my experience without telling you what happens no worries!}

Essentially the last I would say 75-50 pages I was bawling my eyes out. I even started chocking because I was crying so hard! I know what your thinking "we get it its sad". However for me I found the story to be very powerful. I never have experienced a great relationship like Augustus and Hazel have in the story. So, to see how much they cared for each other was very powerful to me. The movie was the same way, however a little different. I will say the movie is GREAT but not as good as the book. Everyone says most movies are never as good as the books. For someone like me who usually just sees the movies I never understood it. But now I get it!

Don't get me wrong, the movie is probably one of my favorite movies I have seen in a long time. The characters are truly captured by the actors and actresses they selected. But, again, the book is just a little better I have to admit. Some details are left out but naturally they couldn't put everything in the movie because it would be a year long. So would I suggest to see it? YES for sure I would! It is a great movie with a great story just like the book. Not to mention Ansel Algort is like my new dream boy. HE IS SO CUTE!

I can sum up the movie in this tweet:

Now the question is, what should you wear to this movie? Well here is my idea look so you can enjoy this great movie! My golden rule for any movie is to wear long pants and long sleeves. I know its hot outside but you will FREEZE in the theater! And lets be honest how can you focus on a movie if you are freezing your booty off? So pair a normal pair of skinny jeans with a light loose long sleeve shirt. To add an extra level of comfort wear a soft scarf. For shoes, I like to wear Sperry Top-Siders because they can keep your toes warm as well. Then of course you have to wear a stack of bangles. Alex and Ani are my favorites!

OOTD: Polka dot fun

Am I wearing tulip shorts?
I am loving this super girly look! Recently I have found myself wearing a lot of blue which is kind of random for me. But, I wore this super cute polka dot tee with these vintage shorts. These shorts are high waisted and have a cool flap detail. They remind me of a tulip for some reason and I am kind of obsessed! For accessories I wore a fun pearl statement necklace and my other usual bangles and watch. Then for shoes I wore a neutral pair of Sperry Top-Siders.
