Why every girl deserves Augustus Waters

1. He's adorable. No one can deny that Augustus Waters may be one of the most adorable literary characters ever. To me he is the dream guy for every girl. I mean he is tall, handsome but still cute, and is super relaxed but cleans up nice. So in other words he's perfection.

2. He would do anything for Hazel. I can't begin to explain what Augustus would do for Hazel. I mean I can barely get a guy to text me back let alone take me on a picnic, to Amsterdam, etc. Can't more guys be like him? (oh wait its a book....)

3. He looked at her the way every guy should look at a girl. Going along with my point in #2, Augustus is unlike any other guy. I don't know about you all, but the way Augustus looks at Hazel is priceless. I'm lucky if I get a glance it seems! But he looked at her with love in his eyes. Gosh they are to darn cute.

4. Small but grand romantic gestures were his specialty. I mean, I wouldn't mind anything that Augustus does to happen to me.... I mean I don't want to ruin the book/ movie but there are some great ideas for guys. Boys take notes (by that I mean a lot of notes).

5. He says the right compliments, and actually means them. As a girl I'm sure you have gotten some compliment that had some weird hidden agenda behind it. Maybe not maybe you meet all nice guys, if thats you girl teach me your ways. But, Augusts says the sweetest compliments to Hazel but you can tell he is sincere about it. Every girl deserves a nice compliment once in a while, or all the time whatever works really.

Essentially Augustus Waters is perfect and I wish there were a million of him so every girl could have one. But, he isn't even real. Gosh sometimes I hate John Green. (But I don't because he wrote an amazing book)

The Fault In Our Stars: the movie, what to wear, whats the big deal?

Whats the big deal?
It seems like EVERYONE is talking about TFIOS aka The Fault in Our Stars. If you haven't heared of this book or movie you have basically been living under a rock! In a earlier post in May I discussed how I was reading the book.
{I can sum up my experience without telling you what happens no worries!}

Essentially the last I would say 75-50 pages I was bawling my eyes out. I even started chocking because I was crying so hard! I know what your thinking "we get it its sad". However for me I found the story to be very powerful. I never have experienced a great relationship like Augustus and Hazel have in the story. So, to see how much they cared for each other was very powerful to me. The movie was the same way, however a little different. I will say the movie is GREAT but not as good as the book. Everyone says most movies are never as good as the books. For someone like me who usually just sees the movies I never understood it. But now I get it!

Don't get me wrong, the movie is probably one of my favorite movies I have seen in a long time. The characters are truly captured by the actors and actresses they selected. But, again, the book is just a little better I have to admit. Some details are left out but naturally they couldn't put everything in the movie because it would be a year long. So would I suggest to see it? YES for sure I would! It is a great movie with a great story just like the book. Not to mention Ansel Algort is like my new dream boy. HE IS SO CUTE!

I can sum up the movie in this tweet:

Now the question is, what should you wear to this movie? Well here is my idea look so you can enjoy this great movie! My golden rule for any movie is to wear long pants and long sleeves. I know its hot outside but you will FREEZE in the theater! And lets be honest how can you focus on a movie if you are freezing your booty off? So pair a normal pair of skinny jeans with a light loose long sleeve shirt. To add an extra level of comfort wear a soft scarf. For shoes, I like to wear Sperry Top-Siders because they can keep your toes warm as well. Then of course you have to wear a stack of bangles. Alex and Ani are my favorites!

In case you have been living under a rock here is the trailer! Or you can watch it for the 1,000 time like me :)

May Favorites

May flowers? Nope May favorites!
The month of May has been a pretty fabulous. I wrapped up my last week of my freshman year of college which is INSANE! I was super happy to leave the dorms and all but I miss all of my friends so so much. It sucks not having everyone down a few stairs or across the street. But, I am glad to have a summer break and it is a much needed one. This month I started my internship at Purely Fashion which is a super cool app that you should check out for sure :). It has been nothing but a great experience so far and it is one of my favorite parts of the week.
In May I did some MAJOR shopping! So, I have been loving adding the new summer pieces to my closet.
Overall, May was a great month! It flew by way to fast it seems like but it was for sure great :).

Kate Spade purse:
Essentially this purse is me well in a purse. Purple is my favorite color so this bag is literally perfect! Not to mention the adorable scallop details. I have seen this purse on Tumblr and I am glad that I have one of my own because I am obsessed to say the least. I did a post about the bag earlier this month so click here to see that!

Neon:
In the month of May I have been wearing more bright and out there colors because it was full blown spring, and sometimes summer, weather! I have had a lot of neon looks lately which I kind of love. Specifically I have been loving this neon pink shirt, this green skirt, and I recently just got two pairs of neon chino shorts!
SPOILER ALERT: Be on the lookout for my "neon needs" post to see all of my neon picks!
{All of the things in these OOTDs are from J Crew btw}

5 seconds of summer:
5 Seconds of Summer has been one of my favorite bands for a while but especially this month! They performed at the Billboard music awards and I was SO PROUD of them! They are a newer band so it was great to see them finally get some credit and some press. If you haven't heard their stuff you need to right now. My favorites are She Looks So Perfect, Heartbreak Girl, and Got to Get Out (some of these are their older songs so be sure to look them up on YouTube!).

The Fault in Our Stars:
This month I read the amazing book The Fault in Our Stars. As you may know the movie is coming out this week actually so I wanted to read the book before I saw the movie. Most people do this but I have never been a book person. But, this movie looked to amazing not to know the whole story behind it! So, I decided to be a "big girl" and actually read the book.

Chicago:
The beautiful city I have lived near all my life is a MAJOR favorite this month! As you know I started my internship at Purely fashion in the city and I love it so so much! I love commuting on the train and being able to escape the suburbs for part of the week.

So those are my May favorites! Hope you enjoyed :)

What I'm Reading

I'm reading.... this is weird
So, I am not the type of person who is always reading a novel or a good book. I have two books that I really love but besides that I don't read.... like ever! But, as you ALL probably know the movie The Fault In Our Starts is coming out soon, and I have heared nothing but good things about the book. I decided to do the normal thing and read the book before I saw the movie. I am a little bit over half way through the book and it is so good! I can hardly put it down. Normally I read a chapter or two before I go to bed and I have been loving it. It's a great way to relax after a long day. I won't be a spoiler and tell you anything about the book because I want everyone to read it. But, I do know everyone who has read it bawls their eyes out at the end so I am mentally preparing myself to loose it! However the book is really well written and the characters have a great wit and humor that I really love. SO GO READ IT! And I literally can't wait to see the movie now!
