Sew Cute Abroad: Louis Vuitton Series 3 Exhibit

Everyone at my school was freaking out over a new Louis Vuitton exhibit in London. Well, I will say the hype was appropriate! This exhibit was unlike anything I've ever seen. It's perfect for anyone who loves fashion or who has an appreciation for the finer things in like (aka expensive designer handbags).

The exhibit included large screens, a room with their recent runway show on loop, a room full of the clothes from the collection showcased in clear acrylic cases, and areas showcases how they assemble and make the bags! But, here are some photos I took at the exhibit.

One room had a wrap around screen that played different things and showed different images. At some points it was almost trippy because it was so bright! But, it was a really cool sight.

One of the rooms showcased vintage and new Louis Vuitton bags and trunks. My personal favorite was this large storage trunk that had Miss France painted on the side. This was used for rich women to transport their clothing and shoes while traveling! Louis Vuitton has such a long and rich history and it was interesting to see vintage pieces.

If you happen to be in London before the exhibit closes YOU HAVE TO GO! It's truly incredible and so interesting to look at.

Sew Cute Abroad: Weekend 3 Recap

A while back my friend Maggie and I explored Shoreditch on a lovely Sunday afternoon! So, here are a few shots of what we did and the area.....

Pump is a restaurant that has different food truck stands. It's really cool because there is something for everyone to eat! From pasta, burgers, chicken, to different cultural foods there was a wide range of choices.

We visited the Boxpark which is basically a collection of small pop-up shops in a structure built from shipping containers. I love that London has so many pop-up shops! It's a cool way to get exposed to a lot of different designers and shops.

While we were walking around we found T2 which is a well known tea shop in London. My brother is a BIG tea fan so I stopped in to pick him up some! I fell in love with the visuals of the store and the beautiful tea cups and pots in the back of the shop. There were so many cool prints and colors!

Inside London Fashion Week: Emilia Wickstead

In my previous Inside Fashion Week post I talked about my experience working at the Mother of Pearl show (check it out HERE)! This time I am going to chat about my time while working backstage at Emilia Wickstead.

Emilia Wickstead is a pretty big name designer so it was amazing to get to volunteer backstage! My tasks included unloading the van with the clothing in it, placing the press release cards on the benches, as well as being a dresser for a model backstage! It was interesting to see the difference between the two shows. The Emilia Wickstead show was a lot more crazy and intense. They were also super strict about taking pictures backstage so sorry for the lack of pictures! But, none the less it was a great experience. It was awesome to get to see what goes into a major runway show.

The clothing for the shows was AMAZING. There were gorgeous floral gowns, embellished pieces, pink and white stripes, and lots of other feminine chic pieces. In addition, the collection had a lot of unique silhouettes and shapes. Here are a few of my favorite pieces....
