Dose of Disney: Make it Pink

For day 1 of our Disney Spring Break Trip we headed to Magic Kingdom for a half day. We arrived at our hotel around noon then headed to Magic Kingdom for a lunch reservation and some fast passes for later in the evening.

For a short day at the park, and one of the warmest days of the week, I sported this adorable Sleeping Beauty inspired 2319Threads tank top! Sleeping Beauty is one of my favorites and I love pink so this tank was perfect! I paired the tank with a seersucker Lilly skort.

How cute are my mom's Lilly shorts? This is my favorite Lilly print of all time.

This Disney trip I wanted to dress cute but comfortable. Wearing comfy tees with cute bottoms has been a good balance. This way I'm comfortable but still have cute outfits for all of the photo opportunities!

For accessories I had some super fun pieces! First things first, are these adorable Toy Story vans. Under very lucky circumstances I found these on sale at a Nordstrom Rack near school. For about $30 these were such a steal, and perfect for the parks. Then, I had these gorgeous Aloha Ear Design 3D printed ears. They are so so cute! I got dozens of compliments on them. They are gold castles with a Mickey head in the center. Plus some glitter to make them sparkle.

OOTD: Striped Bow Blouse

Spring is such a fun time. It's full of new clothes, blooming flowers, and brighter colors. I'm so over the boring dullness of winter. Spring Break has been making me even more excited for warm weather!

In Lawrence it was 70 degrees when I was there a while back so I took advantage of the warm weather. This striped top is going to become my new go-to spring top. I love the color, sleeves, and the adorable bow back detail. It's great for going out, shopping, or just a casual day.

OOTD: Lilly Floral

Now that I'm in Florida it makes me so excited for spring and summer in the Midwest. We've gotten a slight taste of spring so far this season. This look is going to be my go-to spring look! A fun blouse plus a pair of chino pants from J Crew make the perfect look to go from class to work.

I picked up this casual tunic style top at the most recent Lilly sale. I love the print! It has a little bit of every color. From orange, navy, pink, and green this top has a little bit of everything which makes it super easy to pair with different bottoms. For this look I kept things simple with a pair of navy pants. But, you could also pair it with bright pink shorts or a navy skirt.

To accessorize the look I wore my go-to shoe of choice for the summer Jack Rogers. Then I added a pair of iridescent Kendra Scott earrings for a little bit of sparkle.

OOTD: Bow Blouse

Belle sleeves and bows oh my! These blouses are all the rage right now and I am super in love. This adorable white blouse has wide sleeves and bows on the elbows. It's the perfect top for a great spring day.

The weather in Ames has been bipolar to say the least. One day it's snowing and 30 degrees the next it is 60 degrees and sunny. So, tops like this are great because they work for warmer or cooler weather. Wear it with jeans and boots for a colder day. For a warmer day style it like how I did with a pair of chinos and espadrilles.

For accessories I kept things simple. With a fun pair of fringe studs it added a little bit of extra color. Neutral espadrilles are great for a comfortable casual look.

10 Dresses for Sorority formal UNDER $100!

midi lace | white floral periwinkle peplum

Sorority formals are right around the corner! I have been scouring the Internet for cute dresses to wear to formal. I've rounded up 10 cute dresses that would be perfect for a formal, but not to formal sorority event. At my school girls wear casual cocktail dresses that can still be re-worn for other events. The ebst part about these dresses? They are all under $100! A college girl can't be spending to much on a formal look so these options are perfect.

What are you wearing to your sorority formal? Let me know in the comments! Stay tuned to see my formal look in a few weeks!

Recent Skincare Favorites

I've been obsessing over skincare recently. Between being sick and the cold winter months (well abnormally warm now) my skin has been super dry. So, I upped my skincare routine to be more intense and to really try and wash my face daily and fully remove makeup. There are the products I have been using recently that I cannot get enough of!

If you take anything away from this post take this: these Biore strips are AMAZING! I never thought I had a problem with my pores. But, I got one of these strips in a Walmart beauty box (also highly recommend!) so I gave it a go. Wow! These strips literally pull out all of the gunk in your pores on your nose. I was amazed by seeing all of the white dry skin and stuff stuck in my pores that it pulled out. These are seriously my new obsession. Not to mention it is oddly satisfying pulling it off and seeing everything you are removing from your skin.

Next up, face masks. Face masks have become a weekly thing for me. I try and do one twice a week. This gives me time to relax and unwind and also helps my skin. I prefer peel off masks because they are easy to remove and give you the satisfaction of peeling it off. But, clay masks are great too, but more messy to remove. A really great easy mask is Clean & Clear's deep action 60 second shower mask. You put it on in the shower and let is sit for a minute then rinse! Super easy. It gives a cooling sensation so you know it's actually doing something.

Something new I have tried is Thayers rose petal toner. Target has been starting to carry a ton of new beauty brands. Some are organic and others are just new additions to the drugstores. I've never used a toner previously but I love how this one smells and conditions my skin. I use this in addition to my micellar water just to get an extra cleanse in.

Aquaphor has saved my life. When I was sick recently my skin was literally withering off my face near my nose and especially on my lips. I would apply this like Vaseline and it conditioned my skin. It's also great for really chapped lips, which I have as well. Winter is not kind to my skin!

Now to moisturize. My go-to is my holy grail is the Nivea shower lotion. Then a new favorite is this Aveeno moisturizing lotion. I'll put it on super dry skin before bed and when I wake up I can still feel it moisturizing. It's truly incredible!

Last, but not least, I have been using this Pond's cold cleanser. This helps remove makeup plus leaves your skin super moisturized. I've never tried a product like this but it is super cool!

All of these products can be found at Target! I truly believe you don't need to spend a lot of money on skincare for your skin to be amazing! Drugstore brands have some amazing products so just give them a try. Target has a great "minis" section with travel sized versions of some of these products. That way you can try them before you commit to a full size. Also, sign up for Walmart's beauty box or purchase Target's to try out new products! Some of these I discovered through that.

Dose of Disney: What to Pack

My Disney trip is quickly approaching, I leave this coming Friday, so I have been planning out my outfits for my trip! Packing for Disney can be challenging so, I'm going to walk you through some of my tips on what to pack for your Disney trip!

Walking shoes | Disney requires miles on miles of walking. Although looking sandals are a more fashionable choice at times, I highly recommend packing sneakers like Keds, Converse, or Nikes for the parks. Save your sandals for Disney Springs or a night out for a nice dinner.

Sunscreen | As a pale person sunscreen is always necessary! Pack a mini travel size in your park bag for easy application.

Backpack or crossbody | I usually bring a cross body bag or a backpack to the parks. My last trip I took my Marc by Marc Jacobs backpack and it was super convient. Either use your school bag or a smaller backpack to keep your hands free for taking photos and Snapchats! Or, I also love using Le Sportsac cross body bags. I have one from an old It's A Small World collection that is super cute! Disney has a ton of collabs for purses, specifically with Le Sportsac.

Water bottle | Bringing a re-usable water bottle saves on buying water bottles at the park!

Outfits for each day | Before I head for Disney I always plan what I'm going to wear. I pull out all of my Disney tees and Lilly items and decide what I'm going to wear at each park. For Magic Kingdom I usually wear shorts just because you are getting in and out of so many rides. While Epcot or any of the other parks you could get away with a dress or skirt because you aren't going on as many rides throughout the day. I always like to bring extra outfits as well. Florida weather is known to be unpredictable. So, bring jeans or long pants even if you think it'll be warm! We went in December a lot the past few years and sometimes it was gorgeous and other times we were wearing gloves, hats, scarves, and we're bundled up. Plan accordingly!

Sweatshirt or jacket | This goes along with my last point, Florida weather is unpredictable. Print a hooded sweatshirt or jacket to throw in your backpack. At night it can get chilly. So, come prepared for your late night firework shows!

Rain ponchos or rain jacket | At some point at Disney it usually always rains. Animal Kingdom is notorious for always raining while we are there! Keep a folded rain poncho or rain jacket in your bag if there is a possible chance of rain. Umbrellas are helpful too, but are sometimes hard to navigate with crowds.

Portable charger | While I'm at Disney I am always taking a ton of pictures and snaps. Bring a portable phone charger in case your phone dies at the parks!

Disney accessories | I have been getting super into Disney accessories and clothing. Be sure to pack your favorite Minnie or Mickey ears, Disney pins, and Disney tees with you! Of course you can wear these any day of the year. But, obviously you want to sport your favorite gear at the parks. In the picture above I'm showing off my Sail Bows ears I picked up to perfectly match one of my Lilly dresses. I also picked up a pair of 3D printed ears at Aloha Ears Design. They have become super popular and I am so glad I snagged a pair of the castle ears!

What do you pack for your Disney trip? Let me know in the comments!
