Sew Cute Abroad: London Street Art

London is full of amazing street artists. From Camden to Shoreditch I am constantly around very interesting works of art throughout the streets. I never thought of street art to be cool. In the U.S., at least in Chicago, I only see graffiti that has no artistic value. However, London street are is very cool, unique, and interesting. A lot of them tell stories or narratives that are far more interesting then just some spray paint on a brick wall. So, take a look of some street art that I have found from my time in London so far....

This is one of my personal favorites! I realized that it was an abstract version of the famous photograph of a solider returning home from WWII. The bright colors and abstract qualities make it super unique and interesting to me.

All of these pieces were in the Camden market area. Camden was famous for Amy Winehouse so there were a lot of pieces inspired by her.

Below is also a favorite of mine. I love the bright pink color with the royal tapestry pattern. Also, I think it is interesting how the little girl is vandalizing the Mona Lisa painting. I'm not entirely sure what the underlining meaning is but I think it is very interesting!

Have you explored street art in your area? What are your favorite pieces?
Let me know in the comments!
