Sew Holiday: Items I swear by that make great gifts

When flipping through blogposts I always see a billion gift guides during the holidays. But, I've noticed most of these gifts people suggest are just things they see online that are cute. Which is great, but today I wanted to share items I swear by that would make great gifts! All of these items I own and have used a ton and would 100% recommend to you to give as gifts this holiday season.

Away suitcase | If you have a jetsetter on your shopping list look no further then the Away suitcase. I know, I know, this suitcase has been hyped up by bloggers basically everywhere. But, this is one thing I 100% agree is worth the hype. I purchased this suitcase about 2 months ago and it has changed the way I traveled! I picked up the bigger carry-on and it is big enough to fit a weeks worth of clothes, but still fits in the overhead bin. It also has a built in charger, which I think everyone can agree that is amazing for long layovers or if your flight is delayed. All in all, would totally recommend this suitcase as a gift, or a gift to yourself.

The Bigger Carry-On Luggage Set

Peaches Two Faced Palette | This has been my go-to palette of fall. I've been getting sooooo many compliments on this eyeshadow whenever I wear it! From stores to a worker at Five Guys, everyone loves these shades! At first I didn't know if I could pull it off, but they really are very flattering. The palette features peach shades, pinks, and some orangey browns. Not to mention it smells like peaches and is oh-sew adorably packaged!

Just Peachy Velvet Matte eyeshadow palette from Two Faced

Alex and Ani bracelets | Pretty sure everyone in their mother now owns an Alex and Ani bracelet, but I still love them. I got into Alex and Ani bracelets back in 2013 (I like to consider myself an OG fan), and now I have a TON. From Disney, to horoscopes, to Saints Alex and Ani really has something for everyone. Plus they are reasonably priced which make them great stocking stuffers or a gift for your girlfriend or sister.

Disney Alex and Ani | 2017 snowflake bangle (I have last years!) | I have the older St. Christopher bangle | birth month bangles

Stoney Clover Lane pouches | Another great gift for a girl on the go, or a girl who needs some organization, are Stoney Clover Lane pouches! I recently purchased a pouch from them during a sale and I love it! I keep it in my suitcase to keep small things organized. The great thing about their pouches are you can customize them with patches on their website. So you can create the perfect customized gift.

mini pouch (I picked this one up during their Black Friday sale!) | small pouch which I have in patent pink | luxe varsity letters (shown on my small pouch!) | got these balloon letter patches on my mini pouch | I picked up the silver patent camera bag on Black Friday, but I have the denim bag and I've been using it a TON recently

Aerie sweaters | I've recently been loving Aerie sweaters. There is a great chenille sweater that would make a great gift! The sweaters I already own | Navy ChenilleDeep Burgundy Chenille (it's like a rose bronze color!)

Shinola Watch | I recently picked up a Shinola watch from their outlet store in Aurora (it was such a good deal FYI), and I have been loving it since! Both my mom and brother had Shinola watches before I did and they also love them. I think these watches make a great gift for really anyone. They are on the pricey side, but if you can find an outlet you can score one for under $300 if not cheaper! Mine was $150, originally $500+!!! Craziness!

this style is closet to mine | I love the moo phase watches!

Emily Ley Planner
 | My go-to organization companion, my Emily Ley planner. These planners make great gifts for students, mom's on the go, or for any working women. I'm using the weekly planner for work and it is great! You've heard me rave about these planners before so I will stop, but I had to mention them for this post because they would make a great gift.

Henri Bendel Jetsetter Bag | This bag is the best bag I own! The Henri Bendel Jetsetter backpack is the perfect bag for any girl. It can be converted to a crossbody, backpack, or has short straps. This makes it perfect for travel or for everyday. This has been my go-to bag since I picked up the mini in New York this summer. But, it also comes in a larger size which is also great, but I find the mini is a better fit for me personally!

Sew Cute Holiday: My Christmas Wishlist!

To be honest, this Christmas season there isn't anything I'm dying to have. I didn't really create a wishlist because I am getting a Disney Annual pass from my parents and a few other things. Plus now that I work a full time job I have my own money to spend. So, there isn't anything really on the top of my wishlist this year. But, I wanted to round up a few things that I have been taking a look at that could be considered my personal Christmas wishlist.

I'm a bag kind of gal, so naturally there are mostly bags on my wishlist. I love Coccinelle bags, they are from Italy and tehy are such great quality. I purchased one when I was in Florence 2 years ago and I love it! Another bag I have had my eye on is this gorgeous Henri Bendel purple bag. Purple is my favorite color so this bag is calling my name. Then there is this cute, but basic, Madewell leather tote bag. I love how simple and versatile it is!

Continuing on with the pinky purple theme are these gorgeous jewels from Henri Bendel. I love their sparkle bangles! They are the perfect accessory for layering. Then, I've also been loving Kendra Scott's opal inspired stones. This pink color is gorgeous on their Elisa necklace. I've also included some other random accessories like this adorable bow headband (very Blair Waldorf), a pearl beret (also very Blair), and a fun pair of velvet sneakers.

Wrapping up this gift guide is this adorable vineyard vines whale ornament, and a fun vineyard vines tote bag. The best part of the tote bag is you can monogram it! Vineyard vines has a ton of monogram-able gifts, which is awesome. I have a personalized Shep Shirt that I love, they also make great gifts!

What is on your personal Christmas wishlist? Let me know in the comments!

Sew Cute Holiday: Preppy Gift Guide

Lisi Lerch tassel earrings | Longchamp Le Pliage tote | KJP pearl bow bracelet

As you know I am like the definition of preppy style, so naturally I had to create a preppy gift guide for the holidays! Almost ALL of these gifts are items I own and would 100% recommend. This season it was important to me to recommend gifts and create gift guides with items I actually use and would truly recommend!

First up, are shoes. L.L. Bean Bean Boots are the definition of the best preppy Christmas gift, they are on the pricer side, so most people don't buy them for themselves, which makes them a perfect gift! I wear these all the time and they are great for the snow or rain. Not to mention they are cuter then your average snow boot. Other shoes I recommend for the preppy girl on your list are Jack Rogers. I love their traditional Hampton Sandals, but odds are your preppy girl probably already has a pair. So mix it up with a fun pair of scallop flats or a glittery jelly pair. Best part about the jelly pair are they are under $50!

Jewelry is another great item to gift a preppy girl. From KJP pearls to tassel earrings to a classic monogram there are so many great options! I personally love KJP bracelets. He has so many different options, plus Kiel and Sarah are like ultimate preppy couple goals. I also love Baublebar for monogram necklaces and fun tassel earrings. If you're looking for the OG tassel earrings head over to Lisi Learch. Kendra Scott Elisa necklaces are also a personal favorite of mine. This pink opal inspired stone is gorgeous. But, they also have really neutral shades like white or clear which match anything and everything.

A fun stocking stuffer is a Yeti tumbler! They have this adorable pink shade that is to DIE FOR. If you wanna go big, go for the true pink Yeti cooler.

Clothing also makes great easy gifts for a preppy gal. A monogrammed Shep Shirt from vineyard vines is a go-to piece of mine. I have a navy Shep Shirt with a white monogram and it is so adorable and comfy. Lilly Pulitzer or Lauren James items are also great items to pick up for a preppy girl.

Lastly, a Longchamp tote makes a great gift, for really anyone. I love these because they fold up and are great for travel. But, are super light so they are great for everyday use.

Sew Cute Holiday: Guy Gift Guide

I am convinced guys are the worst to shop for. I never know what to get my boyfriend, dad, etc. for Christmas. But, this year, now that I am working for Barbour, finding gifts everyone is excited about is a little easier. For my boyfriend he has been eyeing the Barbour leather duffle bag. It's the perfect weekend travel bag that looks sleek and stylish, but functional. Then for dad's, or your significant other's dad, the Barbour wash bags are great! I find that most guys carry the same cosmetic bag for travel for years before they replace it. So, this is an easy gift that is functional you can give to either your dad, or a guy on the go! Scarfs are also a great option for an easy gift. They nice thing about Barbour scarfs are that most are unisex, so they make great gifts for anyone. My brother has been eyeing this Barbour messenger bag for a new work bag. This is a great gift for your brother, dad, or anyone that just started a new job or college! Then of course, I had to include the Ashby wax jacket. This is one of Barbour's most popular styles! Practically every guy looks great in this jacket, plus it works in so many different temperatures and is weatherproof, perfect for the winter months.

As for non-Barbour gifts, my boyfriend is a huge Yeti fan. So a Yeti tumbler or colster is a great gift for a guy in college. Also, Smathers and Brandson has some great small and larger gifts. For a larger gift their needle point belts are great! They come in so many designs and you can really find one customized to the guy you are shopping for. Then a keyring is a great stocking stuffer for a college student or someone who just got their license or permit.  Of course cologne is always a great option as well. I love the Polo Black scent! But, obviously there are a million different options out there, and you can usually find a gift set for a great price around the holidays. Gift sets like this Kiehl's men's set also make great gifts. I mainly love this set because of the Mickey holiday packaging (because duh). Last but not least, a great watch is a perfect Christmas item! I love the look of Shinolas, but there are a lot of splurge worthy watch brands that fit a lot of different styles.

I hope this gift guide gave you some ideas on what to get the guys in your life! These are all gifts I will be giving, or have seen the guys in my life love!

Sew Cute Holiday: Christmas Makeup Look

The holidays call for lots and lots of glitter, plus a fun red lip. I was sent some C.Y.O cosmetics makeup to try out and I am loving this sparkly holiday look. C.Y.O is a new cosmetic brand that is available only at Walgreens. Check out my Instagram post to learn more about C.Y.O and the products I used in this look.

This makeup look features a sparkly silver eye shadow stick and shadow along with a black liner. I love this liner because it has a super unique tip. Plus, it went on super dark and black. To me, metallics are the perfect look for the holidays. Whether you like silver, rose gold, or gold glitter eyeshadow is the perfect way to add a dash of holiday magic to your makeup look. The CYO metallic eye stick comes in so many great colors to create your own metallic look.

A quick pause on the makeup talk, let's talk about the outfit details for a bit.

Where it's from:
Vest | Land's End
Turtle Neck | Target
Bracelets | KJP, Alex and Ani
Earrings | Kate Spade

I love this liquid red lipstick. It is actually metallic! The best part, it doesn't dry out your lips like other liquid lipstick products I have tried. I also tried their dual ended lipstick and lip liner and that is also great! Both of my shades were in a fun red color, perfect for Christmas time.

You wanna know the best part of CYO cosmetics? Everything is so affordable! All of the products are around $5 to $6, which makes them great holiday gifts. For the price I found these products had great quality.

Dose of Disney: Casual Mickey Style

If you keep up with my Instagram stories, which you totally should, you would know I shopped the new Disney x Cath Kidston collection recently. This collection was all about Mickey and friends! The last Mickey collection I didn't get to many items, but with his friends thrown into the mix I was super interested in this collection. I love Donald, Daisy, and more so I was super excited to see them included in this collection.

I picked up quite a few pieces from this collection, because everything was so darn cute. Cath Kidston, if you didn't know, is a U.K. based brand that I fell in love with while studying abroad in London 2 years ago. In the past year or so they have been doing collaborations with Disney to create adorable collections! From Mickey, Pooh Bear, Peter Pan, and 101 Dalmatians they have created some adorable pieces.

From this collection I picked up two mugs, a skirt, this adorable sweatshirt, a luggage tag, a pouch, and a trinket tray! Everything is still in stock, so be sure to snag it if you like it. These are limited edition items!!!

I wore this super casual look to see Disney Pixar's new film Coco! Side note: the movie is amazing. Amazing animation, amazing store, amazing everything. I did cry, but not as much as I thought! So that is a win for Miranda.

I paired my Mickey bouquet sweatshirt with a pair of simple J. Crew toothpick jeans, my new go-to pair of denim. To accessorize I wore Mickey hand earrings from Typo that I picked up in their Mall of America store! They have a whole Disney collection that is so dang cute. Too complete the look I topped it off with my Disney Pandora charm bracelet and some Disney Alex and Ani bangles.

How do you style for a lazy day? I love wearing a comfy sweatshirt and jeans! Let me know in the comments below.
