Rent the Runway Trunk Show Event!

{The Iowa State Rent the Runway team!}

As some of you may know I am a rep for Rent the Runway! So I work on the Iowa State Rent the Runway team. We recently hosted an event at Portobello Road boutique and it was our Spring Cleaning Trunk Show.

So basically a trunk show is where we have a bunch of Rent the Runway dresses and we let girls come in and basically play dress up. This gives them an idea for sizes and styles that Rent the Runway has to offer. But, RTR has many more dresses then what we had but it is a little taste that we are able to give people.

We had dresses from brands like Kate Spade, Lilly Pulitzer, and a lot of others!

Not to mention we have super fun freebies from L'Oreal Paris to hand out to attendees!

Also, I would like to mention our pairing with Portobello Road for this event! Portobello Road is an amazing boutique in Ames with super cute apparel and home decor. So if you ever find yourself randomly in Ames, Iowa be sure to stop by and take a peek. The store is literally the cutest thing on the planet.

{My Big rocking some lovely RTR dresses!}

{Portobello Road has the best decor!}

OOTD: School Spirit | Without a T-shirt

September 13th, 2013:

The Outfit: I am not the biggest fan of wearing a t-shirt around. But, this weekend is the Iowa State vs Iowa game. So basically the biggest weekend of college for us at Iowa State. So, I had to show my school spirit in some way. I chose to wear this denim button down shirt with bright red skinny jeans. Along with that I paired a yellow flower statement necklace. Together red and yellow are our school colors. So if you like me and you don't like t-shirts recreate this look with your school colors!

All you need is......
  1. Colored skinny jeans that represent your school.
  2. A statement necklace in a different school color.
  3. Then just a basic top!
This look is super simple and would be perfect for game day or around campus. Remember you are not obligated to wear a t-shirt. Dress up and have fun when it comes to school spirit!

| Back To School Style |

Preppy With a Twist
It's back to school time! Which means new clothes and new looks. This fall punk and grunge is really in. For a girly girl like myself this trend isn't the easiest. But here are some outfits girly and grungy at the same time!
Back To School Style

These two are the most girly. Mixing patterns is always fun. So I paired this flower sweater with a polka dot circle skirt. I also love to layer sweaters with collared shirts. It gives you an extra layer in cold classrooms. Pair the ensemble with cute flats and a statement necklace.

The next look is kind of nerdy chic I would call it. Wearing a baseball tee dressed up is still relaxed enough for a lazy day but still cute. Add some statement jewelry, a cute patterned shoe, and nerd classes to complete the look.

Pretty in Punk

Pretty in Punk

Everyone loves Pretty in Pink. But, how about pretty in punk? Add punk touches to feminine pieces to stay on trend this fall.
The first outfit I paired a denim button down, one of my favorite all year round pieces, with cute pink shorts. Add a spiked flat and a chain necklace to edge up the look. If it gets chilly out add some tights!
The next look meshes punk with girly perfectly. Pair a pink skirt with any striped top and add a leather vest or jacket to edge it up. Add any type of punk accessories to take it to the next level.

 Back to Casual

Casual School Style

So maybe you are a more casual girl. So the first look is cute but comfy. Wear a loose fitting tee or shirt with a pair of boyfriend jeans and add some fun quirky accessories. The cheetah print is fun and a statement watch with bangles adds some jewelry to the look.
The next look is dressy but still relaxed. Pair a printed skirt with a cute muscle tee for a dressed down look. By pairing it with platform sneakers you can add a sporty touch. Of course no outfit is complete without a fun statement necklace!

Hope these outfits gave you some tips and tricks! REMEMBER: Teen Vogue's back to school saturday is your non-stop shopping day for anything and everything back to school! So get ready for the BEST saturday ever.
