Follow Me Around: Shedd Aquarium

Shedd Aquarium
This past friday I went the aquarium downtown Chicago. I love going to the aquarium because who doesn't love fish, whales, and dolphins??? No one. You are never to old to go the aquarium! It was a fun day and I went with my good friend Maureen and my mom. It's our little tradition to go in the summer so it was fun to go again.

My Outfit:
Shirt: J Crew
Shorts: J Crew
Necklace: J Crew
Shoes: Sperry Top-Sider
Bracelets: Alex and Ani
Watch: Michael Kors

Behind the little food court they have a great outdoor seating area. We always take pictures out here because of the stunning back drop.
Random giant mac and cheese noodle?

This jelly fish reminds me of fringe that you buy at the craft store. Does anyone else think that?

We went to a super cool jelly exhibit in the aquarium. The amount of spongebob references I heared in the 15 minuets we were in there was insane. I have to admit I made a few of my own.
A super cute seal waving at the crowd.

OOTD: Shopping in Chicago

The day after my birthday Cassidy and I went downtown Chicago to go shopping. I was very disappointed though because Vineyard Vines on Michigan Ave close, which was the store I wanted to go to the most. However, we still had a very good shopping day. I got a few things at Topshop that were pretty good deals then I scored a lot of good stuff at J Crew for 50% off. J Crew at 50% off is my favorite kind of J Crew. I mean who passes up $10 chino shorts? No one.

Here we are with all of our bags after we ate dinner!

Our two main stops on our shopping trip.

Here is my super yummy dessert I ate at Volare. Volare is an Italian restaurant a little bit off Michigan Avenue. If you are ever in the city you NEED to try it! It is way better then any place you will find near all of the tourist attractions!

For my outfit I kept things pretty casual and comfortable because I knew I would be doing a lot of walking. I first wore a fun pair of striped shorts. They are super light and give off a nautical vibe. My shirt is just a plain white pocket tee with a fun sequin pineapple on the pocket. I kept my necklace simple because I didn't want to distract from the embellished pocket. So I wore my tortoise shell monogram necklace. For other jewelry I wore big rhinestone earrings (a birthday gift), Alex and Ani bangles, a Kate Spade bracelet, and my signature watch. My shoes are probably the most exciting part of the outfit because I have been wanting them for so long! They are a pair of gold Jack Rogers and I am obsessed. Then I am carrying a black small Longchamp tote (also a birthday gift).

Where it's from:
Shorts: Dry Goods
Shirt: J Crew
Belt: Aerie
Shoes: Jack Rogers
Bag: Longchamp
Bracelets: Alex and Ani & Kate Spade
Earrings: Kate Spade
Necklace: Jane.com
Sunglass strap: Lilly Pulitzer

Follow Me Around: Chicago with my sisters!

Summer, Sun, and Sisters
This past weekend a few of my Pi Phi sisters came into town to visit. We spent the day downtown Chicago taking pictures, shopping, and getting lunch. It was a super fun day! Being typical sorority girls we had a full blown photo shoot with our Spirit Jerseys and everything. The pictures actually turned out adorable and I am obsessed. If you follow me on Instagram you probably saw some of these already, but here are some pictures form our day!

We had a lovely lunch outside on Michigan Avenue. I had a prime rib sandwich with fries and it was very good!

We stopped at Magnolia Bakery and it was pretty good! I got one of the cupcakes of the month which was a strawberry cupcake. It was super fresh and berry yummy (sorry I had to throw in the pun).

Top 5 Chicago Holiday Activites

Top 5 Chicago Holiday Activities
Are you going to be in Chicago over winter break? Well here are my tips and tricks to make your trip the best and to take advantage of the lovely city of Chicago.

  1. Go to Macy's on State Street: Macy's on State Street is iconic! You must hit up this stop along with the Walnut room for lunch or dinner, buy an ornament at the Christmas shop, and buy some Frango mints. This is one of the best Macy's I have been too because they have a lot of variety at their store.
  2. The German Holiday market: The holiday German market is a fun stop to get unique food and gifts!
  3. Visit the bean: Take an iconic picture with the bean with snow all around. The reflection is extra neat during the winter time.
  4. Shopping on Michigan Avenue: Michigan Avenue is a must during the holiday season. Be sure to check out Water Tower, Topshop, and the huge Forever 21 store while your there!
  5.  New Years Eve at Navy Pier: Navy Pier has an amazing firework show on New Years Eve. If you plan on being downtown during the big night be sure not to miss it!
