OOTD: Emerald Leather

Today's outfit is very out of the box for me. Sometimes I just feel like I want to have an alternate ego and just dress totally edgy. This was one of those days.

My outfit includes a fringe pencil skirt and a green leather jacket. The leather jacket is a recent Christmas present and I am kind of obsessed. The sleeves have a cool detail were they zip off so you can wear it as a vest which is kind of perfect. Also, not to mention it has a super unique dark emerald green color. I styled my hair in a sectioned pony with a cute wire headband. You can see my hair tutorial for how I styled it on my blog!

To finish the look I wore my favorite ankle booties and a pair of black tights.

OOTD: Little Black Dress

OOTD: Little Black Dress

Today's outfit was based on one of my new favorite songs on the new One Direction album Little Black Dress. So basically I formed a whole outfit around a song. (This is a new low. However I don't care.)
But, today was hipster Tuesday (a new thing I'm starting) so it was only fitting to try and wear a little black dress but make it edgy.
My outfit included a tight body con dress that I bought from Akira. It is the brand  Motel Rocks I believe. I then paired the simple dress with a pair of studded combat boots and a pair of patterned tights. This added some interest and texture to the look.

To make the look a little more girly I wore rose gold accessories with hot pink accents. Then to offset the pink I wore my Brandy Melville beanie that says Babe Cave. Because if that beanie isn't hipster I don't know what is!

What's Trending? #beanies

What's trending? #beanies
Beanie hats are all of the rage in fashion now and days. The ghetto look is in and people are loving it.

Beanies with creative or funny sayings are the new accessory to have. These typically edgy hats are now a favorite amongst many fashion it girls.

How to style them:
Beanie Love

One way to style a beanie is with pairing it with cute shorts, tights, and a top. By pairing these items with a beanie and combat boots you have a cute but hipster look for the day. Add a chain necklace or another statement piece to add an extra detail. If you live somewhere cold be sure to include tights or knee socks in your look.

Hats with funny sayings are a great way to add personality to your outfit.

Add a bright colored beanie to add a pop of cozy color.

If you aren't super edgy opt out for a more girly beanie. I mean who doesn't want a fun cheetah, rhinestone, or watermelon hat?

OOTD: I'm secretly a hipster

OOTD: I'm secretly a hipster

Deep down under my pearls and monograms I am basically a hardcore hipster.
Just kidding not really but I do like to mix up my style every once in a while. Everyone has those days that they just want to be a BA.

My hipster outfit included a basic black long sleeve, a pair of denim shorts with velvet details, and striped tights.

Of course I needed a pair of combat boots to complete the look.
These shoes are pretty much the edgiest thing I own but I love them. They are super comfortable and they aren't super tall which is nice for short legs!

On my head I wore a clever beanie from Brandy Melville. I love beanies because they keep your head warm but they can also be fun and clever. Not to mention beanies are a huge trend right now.

Blog Haul: New York and Teen Vogue Fashion U

Blog Haul: New York and Fashion U

So, it's that time to show you all of the loot that I picked up at Teen Vogue Fashion University along with everything I bought while shopping!

Some things in the bag included beauty products, Hue leggings (which are to big sadly), a Sperry magnet, a copy of Teen Vogue, and more!

On the left are just some postcards that I picked up to send to some of my friends. You have to buy something cheesy and touristy when you are in New York right?

On the right is a J Crew bracelet I purchased which I am obsessed with! It is super chunky, sparkly, and fabulous. Also, I got a pair of black, white, and grey chevron socks from J Crew. Both of these things were 40% off the sale price so they were both at a pretty good price.

I bought a few things at the Topshop event for Teen Vogue. I got these two shirts on sale plus the extra 20% we received with Teen Vogue. The first shirt is a simple red and white striped button down. I style this in a very preppy fun way and not to mention it fits really well!

Also, I got this super flowy yellow tank. It is a semi sheer fabric that hangs well on the body.

At Forever 21 I picked up these three dresses along with 2 belts. The lime green dress is the same fabric as a dress that I already own so of course I had to get it! The silhouette is super flattering and in general it is pretty comfortable.

The red dress was an impulse buy but its super tight and hugs in all the right places.

The maroon striped dress is a new obsession of mine. I wore it recently and I think there are a lot of different ways I can style it.

I picked up this beanie at Brandy Melville basically because it is hilarious.

In our goodie bags we got two free bracelets from Express which are actually pretty cute!

Secret is one of the main sponsors for TVFU so everyone got a free deodorant.

These are some of the beauty products that were given to us by some of the sponsors. I got things from Olay, Herbal Essence, and Pantene.

On the left is a super cute mini Bvlgari perfume that I got in our goodie bag. The scent is as amazing as the packaging.

At American Eagle I picked up this sparkle baseball tee. It is super soft and will be perfect for a lazy day or with a fun skirt.

Lastly, I got some hair accessories from Brandy Melville and also a bun twisty from American Eagle. I got to wire headbands one with a plaid print and the other with sunflowers. These are perfect for when you are having a not so cute hair day.

OOTD: Chevron Chic

OOTD: Chevron Chic
My obsession with chevron continues but I took a twist on this preppy pattern to make it a little edgy. By adding a cardigan with metal accents and a tie head band you can transform this girly print.

The headband I am wearing is a sunflower print so I also utilized the idea of mixing prints in this look.

With this look I kept the accessories pretty simple. I simply wore a tie head band, a set of bangles, a mouse watch, and a pair of stud earrings. For shoes I wore my trusty Michael Kors black boots.

The small hardware details in this cardigan like the zippers and studs make it a little more edgy then your average cardigan.

Adding fun details like a quirky watch to an outfit can make it more unique and personal to you.
