Summer Style: Pineapple Party

Fruit crazy!
I have been on a pineapple obsession recently. I'm not sure if it is the influence from Sarah Belle (my favorite Youtuber) or from College Prepster but needless to say, I am obsessed! I think this new trend is a great way to spice up your summer look. Whether you find a cute pineapple tee, a bold bag, or a small jewelry piece pineapples are the way to go for your go-to summer fruit fashion trend.

Here are three looks that incorporate the pineapple trend!
Look 1: This look is the boldest out of the three. It features a bright orange pineapple crop top with a simple white circle skirt. This look would be great for going out or if you find yourself in a warm destination this summer. Pair your skirt and crop top with a pair of neutral heeled sandals, a fun bag, and a pair of dangle earrings to complete your look.

Look 2: A simple pineapple tee and pair of chino shorts is a great look for a relaxed summer day. I got a super cute pineapple pocket tee from the J Crew factory outlet and this is how I plan to style it! Pair your tee and shorts with a pair of brown leather sandals, statement earrings, and a pineapple bangle for a casual but chic look.

Look 3: For a more subtle look pair a simple black dress with some pineapple kicks. These TOMs are super adorable and would go with a lot of different looks. Add a colorful statement necklace to complete the look.

OOTN: New Years Eve

NYE was a fun time. But now its over.... However here is what I wore on the big night to close in the year of 2013.

I wore a white and black cut out dress. It has a high low detail which makes it a little unique. I think the cut outs add a little bit of sexiness to the look without being to over the top.

I paired the look with my blue heels. Also, I layered on two chunky blue statement necklaces to create a lot of texture and to add a pop of color into the look. For makeup I added a bright pink lip to brighten up my lips.

I love how these necklaces look together. They add a lot of different textures and colors to the look. It also fills an empty spot where the dress doesn't have a lot of details.

OOTD: Trend Release Party

Last night was our fashion magazines release party. We celebrated the 15th anniversary of Trend with a fabulous night of sparkle, fashion, and fun. The theme of the party was diamonds and sparkle because the issue was named the Diamond issue.

Naturally I pulled out my most sparkly sequin dress for the occasion. My dress is a body con style dress with black and silver sequins. The sequins are double sided so when you brush your hand you can change the color of your dress. I paired the dress with a blazer to make it more winter appropriate. Also due to the fact that it was about 5 degrees outside.

I styled the look with a gold sequin skinny belt to accent my waist. It gives the dress a little bit of added shape and also a little more shine. Then I wore a longer necklace with gold and silver chains.
To complete the look I wore a pair of chunky maroon heels and black tights.

My hair was styled in a ballerina bun to keep it out of my face. A bun is a great hair do for parties because it's not only easy to do but then you don't have to worry about your hair the rest of the night! Which is idea if it is windy outside.

Overall, I loved this outfit. I felt super chic and of course sparkly.

I am in love with these maroon heels! They are a great way to add a small splash of color to a winter outfit. Not to mention the help me grow a few inches in the process.

Here are some shots of the night. We had a fashion show featuring local boutiques and ASOS as well as refreshments, a DJ, photo booth, and of course getting to flip through the new issue of Trend!

OOTD: Lime Green and Houndstooth

OOTD: Lime Green and Houndstooth

Today was super chilly outside. But, I didn't know this until I left for class so I wore this!
{I didn't freeze to badly so that is a plus.}

I paired this lime green dress with a pair of fun patterned tights. The stripes of the dress and the pattern of the tights also compliment each other in an odd way. My accessories included a chunky stud statement necklace and a pair of ballet flats.

For once I straightened my hair so that made the outfit kind of special.

What's Trending? #beanies

What's trending? #beanies
Beanie hats are all of the rage in fashion now and days. The ghetto look is in and people are loving it.

Beanies with creative or funny sayings are the new accessory to have. These typically edgy hats are now a favorite amongst many fashion it girls.

How to style them:
Beanie Love

One way to style a beanie is with pairing it with cute shorts, tights, and a top. By pairing these items with a beanie and combat boots you have a cute but hipster look for the day. Add a chain necklace or another statement piece to add an extra detail. If you live somewhere cold be sure to include tights or knee socks in your look.

Hats with funny sayings are a great way to add personality to your outfit.

Add a bright colored beanie to add a pop of cozy color.

If you aren't super edgy opt out for a more girly beanie. I mean who doesn't want a fun cheetah, rhinestone, or watermelon hat?
