Follow Me Around: Andy Grammer Concert!

Andy Grammer Concert
Last week I got the chance to go to Andy Grammers concert at the House of Blues in Chicago! It was a BLAST! It was one of the best concerts I have ever been to. I mean I haven't been to a lot but it was for sure one of the best. If you like his music I highly suggest going to one if you get the chance because he is an amazing performer. Not to mention I am kind of hooked on his music. You hear the typical Gotta Keep Your Head Up on the radio and around but his other stuff is so good!

Here are my friends and I outside the concert! It was fun dancing and singing along to all of the songs the whole night :)

Outfit:
Shirt: Francesca's
Jeans: American Eagle
Shoes: Target
Necklace: American Eagle

{I thought this picture was super cool}

Also we had a lovely dinner at Pret! It is one of my favorite places to eat when I am in a city. I have also been to one in NY and its good wherever you are.

Here are a few of my favorite Andy Grammer songs!!!

Back Home- First of all the music video to this is sick! But, this song literally puts a smile to my face every time I listen to it. It is so upbeat and fun but its not a typical pop song. Overall if you were to download one Andy Grammer song this one would have to be it! After the concert all of us could not stop singing this song.

Crazy Beautiful- This is another great feel good song. Its super chill and I love the lyrics. He sang this song acoustically at the concert and it was perfection. I had a fan girl moment during this song because it is for sure my favorite Andy Grammer song.

What to Wear: Wedding Season

I don't know about you, but I love weddings! Although I haven't been to a wedding in a while, I always think about what I would wear. Here are two dresses and two ways I would style them for a perfect wedding look.

Dress 1:
Look 1- This first look is perfect for a more dressy affair. The heels are closed toe so they are great for an indoor wedding. Add some light gold bangles and a simple clutch to balance out the print of the dress. I have this Lilly dress and I think it would be a great wedding dress! Its super flirty and fun and just the right amount of dressiness in my opinion.
Look 2- The second way to wear this dress is a little more casual. I paired the dress with a playful bag, pair of sequin wedges, and a bold statement earring. I would wear this look to maybe an outdoor wedding. The wedges are usually more comfortable then heels so they are great if you want to dance all night long.

Dress 2:
Look 1- A lot of people don't think you can wear a white dress to a wedding. But, I think not! If you accessorize it the right way I think a white lace dress is a great option. For the first way to style the dress I used all black accessories. Pair you dress with a bold black statement necklace, black wedges, and a black cross body to mimic a tuxedo look.
Look 2- I think this look is a perfect beach wedding look! Pair your simple white dress with a pair of bright pink sandals, statement earrings, and a fun clutch. With these bold accessories it will brighten up your simple dress. If pink isn't your favorite use whatever color you please for you accent color!

Follow Me Around: Patriotic Fun + Fourth of July

Happy Fourth of July!!!!

I hope everyone had a fun and safe Fourth of July! I had a super great time staying with my friend Cassidy in Bettendorf, Iowa. As her family said I had a "Old fashion small town 4th of July". Our fourth was filled with swimming, me burning, going to there street fest, and watching the fireworks. It was one of the best fourths yet!

While I was there Cassidy and I picked up these American flag boxers at Target because we were planning our Halloween costumes already..... Then we decided to wear them around the rest of the day. They are a clone of all of the American flag shorts guys wear so we felt pretty cool and hey they are super patriotic. We took a punch of srat pictures with them on so I hope you enjoy!

A trip to Bettendorf is not complete without a visit to Whitey's! Its their ice cream place and it is so good!!!

On the 4th we spent the day swimming which was super fun! I haven't swam in probably over a year.... I know I don't get out much. But it was super fun laying by the pool and swimming with some of my Pi Phi sisters.

June Favorites

Goodbye June, Hello July!
July has already started! This is crazy. But, June was a great month filled with a lot of super fun things. So, here are my June favorites for you all.

Golden Birthday- This month I turned 19 on June 19th! It was a great birthday and I'm so glad to have such great family and friends! For my birthday I went downtown Chicago, ate at my favorite restaurant Melting Pot, and had my best friend from school visit me. It was a great weekend to say the least.

Chicago (again...)- So, yet again Chicago has made it on to my favorites. This is mainly because I have not only gone downtown for my internship but also with my friends! There have been numerous trips going downtown with my Pi Phi sisters and for my birthday. Naturally Chicago is still a favorite this summer. I just love this city so much!

Jack Rogers- For my birthday I got this beautiful pair of gold Jack Rogers sandals. I am in love! I literally wear them every 5 min. I am still breaking them in so they are a little painful still. But, needless to say these are for sure my favorite summer shoe. They go with everything, cute, and most of the time comfortable.

Every day journal- This month I started using this every day journal that I picked up at Target! It is super cool because every day you journal or jot down things that you did and there is a spot on each page for 5 years worth of journaling. So each year you can look back on what you were doing, who you saw, and so on. I am kind of in love with this idea. It gives me a way to compare each day from a past year. Also, since I am in college each year is going to be completely different. This journal will give me a way to compare all of my years of college plus my first year out of college. I highly suggest picking yourself up one!

So, those are a few of my June favorites! Can't wait to see what July brings :) it has already been great so far!!!!

OOTD: Vintage Nautical

Pin Up Inspired
For this look I took a vintage spin on the nautical trend. By adding the headband it kind of gave it a vintage pin-up girl vibe. Which I kind of love! To create this look I paired my favorite anchor shorts with a simple denim shirt. I have worn this denim shirt a bunch this summer and I am in love! You can pair it with practically anything which makes it super versatile. Also, I added a splash of red with both my lipstick and my earrings. I love these earrings because they have a small anchor detail which ties in the whole look. For shoes I kept things simple with my angelfish Sperry Top-Siders. They add an extra touch of nautical to the look.

These earrings are super adorable! I have a severe anchor addiction I have to admit.

I love wearing a bold red lip! Its great to add a pop of color to a neutral look.

Follow Me Around: Recent Happenings

What have I been up to?
So, recently I have done a few fun things! First things first I celebrated my birthday, again, with some family members which was super fun! Apparently I am turning three because thats how many candles I had.

The main thing I wanted to share with you guys that I did recently was go to Six Flags Great America. It was SUPER fun! I used to not be a roller coaster person at all. But, ever since a high school field trip to Six Flags I have gotten super into them. On our way to 6 Flags we got Robeks (aka smoothies) and I just had to take a picture because if you didn't take a picture of your drink did you really get it?

Six Flags just got a new ride that opened a few weeks ago! It is called Goliath. If you haven't heared of it, its the fastest roller coaster with the steepest drop! Yup it breaks about 3 records which is crazy. I was kind of freaking out to go on it but it is actually so cool. I will admit I closed my eyes on the drop but it was probably the best roller coaster I have ever been on. If you get the chance to go on it I highly suggest it.

Let's Getaway!

Going away this weekend?
With 4th of July this weekend I'm sure a lot of people will be heading off to fun destinations or to visit family & friends. I will be heading off to Iowa to see a few Pi Phi sisters so I am super excited! Not to mention I will experience my first "small town" 4th of July. It shall be interesting....

Anyways, here are a few of my travel must haves. These are some of the things I will be taking with me on my little weekend getaway.

  1. Cosmetic bag | I always need some type of cosmetic bag to hold all of my toilet trees. This one form Forever 21 is adorable! My friend gave me one of there makeup bags a little while back and it is actually perfect for traveling. Not to mention they are super affordable and come in a variety of prints and colors.
  2. Foundation | Foundation is a must for me. If I don't have foundation on there is something severely wrong with me! So, it is for sure an essential if I am going away for a long weekend.
  3. iPad | Instead of carrying around a laptop I can now just bring my iPad. I recently got an iPad so I am excited to travel with it!
  4. Cha Cha tint | If I had to take one blush with me it would probably be my travel size Cha Cha tint. It is great because you can swipe it on and go. No brush needed! So if you are tight for space this is a great option.
  5. Stud earrings | I don't like to bring a lot of earrings when I travel because I'm afraid I will loose them! So, I just bring one pair of neutral studs that I can wear with anything.
  6. Fun phone case | I can't go anywhere without a fun phone case. Kate Spade ones are my favorite.
  7. Deodorant | Since it is super hot now and days deodorant is a must. I don't want to be smelly! I use Secret clinical strength.
  8. Travel size products | Whenever I travel I always bring travel size products. I usually go with Bath and Body works for lotion and body wash then Herbel Essence for shampoo.
  9. Chino shorts | As you may know, chino shorts are my go-to summer piece. They are super comfortable and come in fun colors and prints.
  10. Jack Rogers sandals | If I had to take one pair of shoes it would probably be my Jack Rogers. They go with everything I wear and can be casual or dressy.
  11. Longchamp tote | I love this tote bag! It is the ideal purse to travel with because it is so light and easy to carry. I highly suggest one if you just need a quick bag to throw your stuff in.
