EXCITING NEWS!

Hello everyone! I have some super cool news to share with you guys.
I am a Teen Vogue Click fashion blogger and one of my posts has recently just been added to the site!
It was my recent post on my BTSS outfit of the day. So, I thought it was pretty cool that it got up there on the Teen Vogue website.

I have not worked on my fashion click contributions in a while because I am just starting to get back into the swing of blogging everyday so it was exciting to see myself back on the page. Hope you check it out!

Tribal Neon OOTD

August 14th, 2013:

The Outfit: Today I kept things pretty simple. Since most of my clothes are already packed I am making due with all of the things I am not bringing to college. I paired this loose white tank with a pair of tribal print shorts. Adding hints of neon with accessories and my bandeau top it brightened up the look.

Today I also ate at one of my favorite restaurants Portillo's for probably the last time before I leave for school. Portillo's are only in the Chicago or Illinois area so I won't have one when I go off to school which is very depressing. If you are ever in Chicago it is a must do because everything there is delicious!

Dorm Diaries: DIY Dorm Decor

Dorm Diaries: DIY Dorm Decor
Everyone knows dorm rooms are kind of drab. But, there are a bunch of easy and affordable ways to glam up your space and personalize it. Here are a few things I made for my dorm room and gifts I made my friends.

The first thing I made was this ISU giant I. I am going to Iowa State University so I wanted to make something saying ISU. You could do the same thing and paint your sign in your school colors. However, I wanted to make it match my room. So, I painted it this grey color with a chevron purple pattern. You can also glitter the letters like I did or add other embellishments. If chevron isn't your thing you could also do a striped pattern or even polka dots. There are so many ways you can personalize this for your school or based on your favorite colors. You could even decoupage pictures of your school mascot or just a pattern in general on your letter.
What you need:
-One large wooden letter
-Smaller wooden letters that spell out your schools initials
-Wood or craft paint
-Glue to attach the small letters
-Optional glitter or other embellishments

These are both gifts I made my friends. I made one for my friend Emily (on the left) and my friend Maureen (on the right). You only need a few simple supplies for this DIY.
What you need:
-Craft paint or wood paint
-Wooden letter
-Print off pictures or anything from your computer
-Decoupage glue
-Any other optional embellishments
-Paint brush/ sponge
Basically I painted each letter my friend's favorite colors. Then I glued the pictures to the letter using the decoupage. I found that using a paint brush to apply the glue was the easiest. Let all of that set then you can add glitter or gems like I did. Depending on your friend our your own preferences you can add as much extra stuff as you want.

The next thing I came up with was a way to hang my pictures in a way I could easily switch things in and out. So, bought a role of twine and close pins. I painted and embellished the clothes pins to add some glam and to match my room. But, the twine will give it a more eclectic homemade feel. You can personalize this by adding different colors, gems, glitter, or other embellishments. Another way you could add your own style to it is if you printed patterns or pictures and made strips to cover the clothes pins.

I will be sure to show all of these things hung up in my room. Once everything is set up and ready I will make a room tour type thing.

Another thing you can do is make your own monogram wall decor. I used the same supplies and process and the other projects just did my monogram. My last name initial is P and I covered it in pictures of friends and family. The main thing to remember is your monogram order:
first name- last name- middle name
My middle and first initial are the same so it's easy for me to remember!

Here is the final product! I also added polka dots the the small Ms using metallic purple paint.

Hope you enjoyed these DIYs and I gave you some ideas for your dorm or room!

Blog Haul: Von Maur

Blog Haul | Von Maur:
Hey guys! I have a super small blog haul I wanted to share. I went to Von Maur and picked up some super cute stuff at some great prices.

First thing I got was this Ted Baker bangle. It was originally $30 and I got it for only $7! I love this because it says arm candy and that is my fav phrase to describe a stack of bracelets. This piece will go with a lot of stuff I have so I am super excited to start wearing it.

This is my new Steve Madden purse. I got it on sale for $24 and it was originally around $40 ish. The same purse was on sale at Nordstrom a while ago but I couldn't find it. Luckily, I saw this one and basically freaked out and I knew I had to get it right away before it disappeared again. But, it is a bright cherry red color with gold accents. It is the perfect size for me so I am excited about this as well.

I also got another small thing. This is a giraffe ring holder. I think it is just darling and will be cute to have in my dorm room and at home. So, I already put all of my everyday rings on him and he is all ready to go.

OOTD: Shopping and Teen Choice viewing

August 11th, 2013:
Today was a pretty fun day. I got lunch with my Aunt and cousin, went shopping, ate dinner with my Aunt and Uncle, then watched my boys on the Teen Choice awards. Since I am leaving for college in less than a week I have been seeing a lot of people recently. Basically squeezing everyone in at the last minute for visits. Anyways here is my outfit of the day.

The Outfit: I paired this basic v-neck shirt with this super fun fringe skirt. The skirt is a stretchy material and is super comfy, well I think all skirts are comfortable so what would I know. Anyways.... I paired it with a fun statement necklace and a topknot. In the picture it looks crooked but I promise it wasn't like that the whole day!

Where it's from:
Top: Victoria Secret PINK
Skirt: Pacsun
Shoes: Ann Taylor
Bracelets: Betsey Johnson, BCBG, and Dry Goods
Bag: Henri Bendel
Necklace: Charming Charlie's

Please tell me I'm not the only one who watched the Teen Choice awards right? So, of course my fab boys won all four of their awards! They won best love song (Little Things), best song by a group (Live While Were Young), best tour (WHICH I WAS AT), then best group! Then Harry won male hottie and best smile so yay! It's a good day to be a directioner. Also, I hope everyone saw their fabulous red carpet style. They always dress so good.
Goal in life: Find a boy who dresses like them.

Hey guys! I hope everyone tried to take advantage of BTSS! Here is what I wore to the Chicago Topshop event!

The Outfit: Today I went with the black and white trend. I wore this black and white striped circle skirt which is super flowy and comfortable. It has a very unique striped pattern that is very graphic. I paired it with a classic denim button down of course. All my accessories are rose gold (my favorite metal). Then I topped off the look with some bright pink lipstick and gloss.
